I got cancelled today at 3:46 and delivery rescheduled from 9/24 to 10/13. I was told it was a logistics issue getting the car to the Marina Del Rey delivery center. I offered to fly up to Fremont and drive it back but was told that would make it take even longer, which is strange as that's a 1 hour flight, 7 hour drive back. The agent (Tammie) wasn't sure where my car was and seemed to think that Tesla had more than one factory. She's obviously not a TMC member.

Reserved 4/1/16
Ordered 6/23/18
Scheduled 9/7 (for 9/24)
Delayed 9/21 (for 10/13)
Therapy 9/22

Successful delivery today in Tesla Devon, PA. Scheduled for 3:30 PM, Delivery specialist was busy. Saw the car outside while it was being cleaned up, they allowed me to inspect it. After inspection, signed the forms and completed payment via ACH on my Tesla account. About 8 miles on the odometer at delivery.

Paint and interior were in good shape. All accessories with the car. Only minor issues, I'll document them in support and get them resolved later.:
- Left rear door is slightly misaligned.
- Headlights aren't quite flush.

My long-time Tesla owning friend was passing through town, gave me a ride to Devon. He recharged while delivery proceeded. I let him drive the P3D off the lot and around the neighborhood. He really liked it, sounds like he may exercise his Day 1 reservation soon.

Model P3D LR
Midnight Gray Metallic
Premium interior
Premium white seats
EAP
18" Aero wheels
VIN 099xxx

02/23/18 Reservation
08/02/18 Configure & Order
08/05/18 Lost edit button
08/2018 Manufactured, per door placard
08/30/18 Transported to BNSF rail yard, per transport record
09/05/18 Schedule specialist called, scheduled delivery for 9/28
09/07/18 Emailed Scheduling, said we would be willing to take earlier date if car meeting our order is available
09/10/18 Schedule specialist called, I accepted offer to deliver 9/22
09/20/18 Called Tesla Devon, spoke with Delivery specialist to ensure car would be ready for delivery 9/22. When he told me car was onsite, I said we would be thrilled with an earlier delivery. We settled on 3:30 PM Friday 9/21
09/21/18 Successful delivery

The lot was crowded, two carwash tents were set up. Staff told us they're gearing up to triple their delivery rate through the end of the month.

The car is for my wife. She feels her S is too big, has poorly designed interior storage. She is getting used to the 3, seems to like the smaller size and nimble handling. It may take a while to adapt to the controls.

I got the same email, but I do not even have a VIN yet
How can my car be delivered to my home without a VIN number?

They're clearly just matching local reservations to configurations as they're receiving them. I'm cash + no trade, so the only thing I'd need the VIN for is insurance, which I should be able to flip on pretty quickly with a phone call.

It makes sense to flood SF and LA with as many deliveries as possible for the next week to maximize the end of quarter numbers. Proximity to the factory pays off.

Made my weekly call to Tesla today to see if I have a VIN yet. Decided to call the local delivery center (Alpharetta, GA) instead of the corporate number. Didn’t improve my luck but it did drastically reduce my wait time from 30+ minutes to about 30 seconds. Spoke to a very nice young lady who checked my reservation and said no (of course) I do not have a VIN yet, but based on my order date (6/29) and how many they are delivering I should expect to hear something as early as next week. Same answer I’ve gotten for the last 3 weeks btw. I did ask her if they were getting a truckload of Model 3s every day now, and she said “actually, several truckloads per day.” No way to know if that’s true or not but I certainly hope so. 12 weeks since my order and still nothing but crickets. I think I’m going to go have a good Moscow Mule with dinner tonight. :)
That's correct. I was there earlier today and hey were unloading a bunch of cars from trailers. They are moving a lot of them.

No EAP.
Rumour has it truckloads destined for Eastern Canada were re-routed to the west, likely to get them delivered for EOQ. Should also note, i believe there are some differences in the cars destined to Canada. Most of our VINs are 107*** right now.
I was called today, but the woman was from Vegas (not Toronto, as is the norm), delivery scheduled for Thursday.

Makes sense in your case; in my case I am doing 50/50 with cash / credit union who do need a VIN. This email came to me as a surprise.
One thing that worries me is that if I get home delivery, and the car is not acceptable, then I would feel bad for rejecting the delivery...
Tesla must be getting pretty confident in the quality. I wonder if home deliveries get per-inspected for quality before drive-off.

Yeah, the quality issue is my major concern. We'll see.

Went by the Alpharetta location today. They were unloading a truck of Model 3s when I got there. Cars EVERYWHERE! I stopped counting at 90 Model 3s as well as a ton of S and X. Workers constantly running cars in and out to be prepped for delivery. The place is rocking!

17 hours away from my scheduled delivery (9/22 10:30am) and received the dreaded call from Tesla. I almost didn’t answer to pretend this wasn’t happening.

BUT... it was the delivery center just informing me of what to expect and that my car was ready! What? After 613 days this might actually be happening...

15 hours to go - got ANOTHER call from Tesla. Now they found a crack in the windshield and need to delay delivery. Son of ___ ! I’ve been reading this thread. I knew this would happen!

Then they called back and said they have another windshield and will just need to delay delivery by 5 hours. What? I’m going to have a heart attack. Deep breaths....

Delivery at Fremont scheduled two weeks ago for Monday 9/24. Got worried and sent an email asking about a PO (or MVPA) with the VIN that didn't say 'estimated' they said it should come by Thursday. Thursday I got an email confirming everything, the web site also asked me to reconfirm. Several emails back and forth, several promises of a real PO and nothing Thursday or Friday.

I don't think my credit union will be able to turn the loan around in less than a business day, so I suspect that I will need to reschedule. And that's all if I even do get the PO with the VIN. No VIN hidden in the web page.

4/4/16 order, not previous owner
6/28/18 configure
AWD, Red, Black Premium, 18", AEP, no FSD

I didn’t get that email...but I already have a Tesla direct delivery scheduled for 9/24. Haven’t gotten a recent confirmation call or email..so hoping it’s not delayed. Is it creepy if I go to the service center and try to scope out my car this weekend hah?
