Hey guys. So up until this morning I had the old account page for my AWP Non-P Pearl White with payment method pending at finance with 3rd party bank. However, I got lucky recently with Facebook put options and suddenly had the funds to pay cash, and upon changing my payment method to cash, I got the new account page asking me to confirm everything. Does this mean I'm at least one step closer?

As I've learned with Tesla, I probably should get my hopes up.

I hope you're the guy from Wallstreetbets, haha. Congrats.

There are a lot of job position listings on Tesla for Delivery Specialists and Vehicle Prep Specialist, but guessing they are having a hard time hiring and ramping people up. I imagine the turn over might be high too with the stress these people are under. Hope they figure out how to stabilize it, but this is probably one reason why the dealership model works.

Was this the first you heard from them? Or had they already contacted you?

Wed 7/25 they emailed me asking to confirm my insurance and payment information. This was the first time someone from Tesla had contacted me.

I requested to switch from cash to financing. I then requested my VIN # for insurance shopping. Thursday I sent over my financing information around the time she provided me my VIN # (545XX).

Today I finalized my insurance provider, sent her the information. We then spoke on the phone and she got me in August 6th for delivery at the Cherry Hill location. She was extremely responsive which was great.

Thank you! Let me know how it goes there.

Edit button still available, no movement what-so-ever. Figured I would be in one of the top groups for delivery beyond the owners who configured in May, but seems not. Sold my Model S yesterday so I’ll be Johnny Millenial and Uber’ing everywhere while refreshing my account in the backseat. Patience.

Filled out registration, driver’s license, insurance and payment method (credit union loan) on July 1st. Nothing changed at all until this evening when I changed my payment method to cash. [Side note: I decided to use LightStream which is cash as far as Tesla is concerned.] After clicking through some confirmation text about payment, my edit button disappeared and my “Next Steps” changed to; “We are drafting up your contract and will contact you when you can make your final payment.”

I guess Tesla is prioritizing cash deliveries even over independent loans which is interesting because Tesla gets paid up front either way.

Don't get too excited. Mine has said that for a while now. Still no word.
That's true. I also switched to cash now and received the same message "We are drafting up your contract and will contact you when you can make your final payment.”
I think the only difference now is the edit design button is gone.
So, the end result is I just lost the freedom to change the colors/options!
Outside of that I don't think it may be making much of a difference for the actual delivery.

Congrats.

Where did you go for financing, and what rate?

I just went through Tesla Financing since I'm not part of any credit unions and wanted to best streamline the process. I also plan on paying my loan amount off in 1-2 years anyway so trying to secure a low interest rate wasn't much of a priority for me. Anyway, through Tesla they're financing my loan via Wells Fargo and I'm at a 3.59% interest rate for 72 months.
