UPDATE- after many (and I mean many) calls to Tesla about my VIN that disappeared and subsequent canceled delivery I was able to confirm this- unless you have a VIN your delivery date is meaningless. Tesla started scheduling delivery dates with the hopes they match you to a VIN by the delivery date. As we’ve seen, many times they are unable to make a “match” and the delivery is canceled/rescheduled. Call the service center several days before your delivery and ensure your car is scheduled to arrive. If you assume your delivery is going to take place based on your “appointment” you will likely be disappointed.
That's especially true if you have a significant travel time to the delivery site!

How about those of us that had a VIN and they took it back (gave it to someone else) and cancelled?

There's too many scenarios here to even represent consistently. Customers getting hosed over left and right because of Tesla's failed approach to mass delivery by end of month.
I don't even believe they ever had their customers' best interests in mind. They made a rush to the end of the quarter by throwing everyone in with a "make sure you have your cash in hand IN CASE something happens" approach to ensure they got paid. Meanwhile we are out scrambling to ensure our financing is in place, etc. Now I'm sitting with a check for a car/ VIN that was obviously given to someone else. Loan accruing interest and requiring additional paperwork to correct whenever my final VIN actually materializes.

They really don't give two hoots if we get our cars, if we're satisfied, etc … Somewhere through this whole Model 3 process, Tesla lost their direction and commitment to the customer.
Prices changing every other week, random delivery dates after collecting people's money, Not adhering to FIFO/ reservation status, constantly pushing out SR, discontinuing colors with a moments notice, etc

Yep, I wrote a lament some days back. Tesla Model 3's may be the slicker than **** on a doorknob (TX saying) but their delivery sucks. I ended with there are a lot of very nice cars out there where you can go online, order one at a local dealer and they will call, likely within a half hour with how soon they will have it for you. I suspect very shortly M3 LR (P)AWD will be in the same boat. A couple of days ago I posited I think Tesla is going to have in stock model 3s, not a lot, a few, after the SR $35000 M3 is past it's bubble, that will be in stock I suspect. But, to your point, yes. I've been seeing lots of "false alarms". Getting your MVPA at deliver is unacceptable for folks requiring it for loans.

Picked up my car and it is beautiful. Only thing I noticed was a small smudge on the glass of the roof I can’t wipe off, so will be taking it to see if it can be cleaned off. Not a big deal. So far everything else has been great. Fingers crossed
On that note: I'd suggest people bring a smartphone with them (not that ppl wont anyway) to document 'smudges', scratches, dents, misalignments. I was promised at what will be my service center "ANY defect" identified as a at delivery defect will be fixed under warranty post delivery and include loaner. So for those saying or thinking if it's not "perfect" I don't want it, they fix defects free of charge and disabuse yourself of any notion only Teslas don't arrive perfect. They use the same freight companies and rail lines Ford, Chevy, Kia, et al use. The difference being the paying customer is not notified to see the car unloaded off the carrier. That's another 'mistake' I think Tesla is making.
I, honestly, believe starting Monday, sanity will once again rule.

Received VIN And scheduled for Delivery in Westmont tomorrow afternoon. Still not counting my chickens but stoked nonetheless.Fingers
crossed. Good luck everyone!
Following on to my previous post. I believe starting Monday they will give you an MVPA w/VIN and a date the car will be ready and when the 7 day clock to take delivery ends. For myself, I plan on giving the delivery center a call before I leave the house (2hr+ drive) to ensure it is there and has been properly prepped. Right now it is clearly cram in any possible bookable revenue for Q3.

Hoping this helps a few people out...

-Was scheduled for 9/28 pickup. Canceled on 9/24 due to logistics.
-On 9/26 received the text everyone else got, replied yes, no reply until later saying they would be in contact.
-This morning called the (888) 771-2505 number provided. They said I had my account looked good and fw'd me to delivery specialist who told me I had a VIN and set me up for pickup tomorrow. At this exact time, also got a text back from same number as Wednesday to set up delivery for TODAY at 1pm (it was around 11-12pm at this point). 888 number told me to ignore text as they scheduled delivery already for Saturday.
-Never received any emails from my delivery specialist that emailed me on 9/24 to cancel.
-Called my delivery center and they actually sent me the 8 page MVPA that I then fw'd to my FCU to get loan processed. They also verified the car was there.
-Relying on the 888 number above and my delivery center was the quickest and most efficient way for me to get my car.

Crazy day considering as of 11am this morning, I was still showing Sep-Nov on my account page.

VIN 88XXX FYI

Picked up at Rocklin, CA around 12:40. My appointment was at 1. The lady first took me to the car and let me inspect it, no pressure at all. The car looked good, gaps looked good, no issues from what I could tell. Then another guy came and walked me through the setup and then signed a few documents and was "out the door" just after 1pm. The lady did say that she had 9 appointments at 6pm though.. I'm glad I came at 1, there was almost no one there!

Got the MVPA at around 3:30, loan docs complete. Planning to check with folks at the delivery location before I take a 1hr Lyft ride tomorrow.

I'm scheduled for home delivery tomorrow. Received my VIN only a couple of days ago, and the official purchase agreement yesterday. This is after emailing/calling/emailing almost every day and getting the same answer: it is normal for customers to receive their final agreement 24 to 48 hours from the delivery date.

Having said that, I think it's ridiculous to be cutting things so close to your delivery date, and I let my advisor know that. It's barely enough time for you to line up a loan and insurance before the delivery is made. Tesla did say that if you've provided your financial institution information, that should be sufficient enough...whatever that means.

At any rate, I was able to get everything in order and I'm crossing my fingers that the delivery happens. Been waiting patiently for more than a year for this vehicle!

I am a recovering Tesla Account watcher. I used to watch my account incessantly. I try not to do that. However, after getting text a car was on it's way for tomorrow evening, I went into my account to see if a vin was there or MVPA was there. What I found was my trade-in information was gone and "amount owed" had what was trade-in allowance added to it.

Has anyone else noticed things in your account, especially financial stuff, changed out from under you? Particularly, with no external warning the change was made?
Bwahahaha....I've been doing the same thing for the past few weeks. Refreshing my browser, logging in and out, then in again to my account to see if things have been updated. The last few days have been the most active in my account!

What a dick move on Tesla’s part.
Yeah they did quite a bit of that as the texts that said we have a car for you were actually only fulfilled for a small number of people. That bait and switch crap is bush league. After the logistics people will contact you text i asked for an update. Todays text says thanks for confirming but we will get back to you in a week or two..... when they said they have a car they can deliver before the 30th. The delivery line says anyone with out a vinn wont be contacted until after the 1st as they are focusing on delivering the remaining cars that have vinn's

Alright, I’ve been approved for financing, trade-in confirmed and I’m scheduled for delivery 10/2 at 1PM. Mind you I have no VIN or MVPA, but what the hey, lets give this the ol’ college try.

I’m positive I’ll be rescheduled, but hey, this is progress compared to 90 days of the silent treatment.

You want to play games Tesla? Oh I’ll play along...

Had some weirdness but not that bad - was approved for financing and had the rate and everything sorted.
Got pmt/down revised/confirmed and life was good.

Then one day it decided that I had applied and “they will let me know their decision”.

I confirmed all was good and accurate with finance and ISA who both just said website is strange and to ignore it....can’t wait.
