Battery Cost: Current Costs

Good Evening!

I am wondering if some of you fine people would mind sharing what you recently paid for a new battery replacement. I am trying to figure out from people who, in the last 3-6 months, had a 100kwh battery replacement 1) what it cost and 2) how it works--by that, I mean...If my battery failed, I would be replacing a 2016 100kwh battery. Would I be getting a 2021/22/23 battery? Would it be newer "tech" or more efficient? I would obviously do whatever I had to in order to pay for a battery to keep a car that the original owner paid >$160k running but I would like to know what some of you all actually had to pay and whether I would be getting a newer, more efficient or long lasting one--akin to how when I replace my MCU1 it is the same *thing* but upgraded. I see online everything from $10-20k+ depending on make and model and battery size. Thanks everyone! You all are a goldmine of information!

My battery didn't fail it was in perfect health but I wanted more power, faster SC, and range so I upgraded from an 85 pack to a 100 pack at 057tech in NC. It cost me $23k and it was well worth the price

If your battery fails while your battery is still under warranty (which should be the case for a 2016 car), you’ll probably get a remanufactured battery that matches your original one, and the remainder of your existing battery warranty will transfer to the replacement. If it happens out of warranty and you shop around for a battery, you’ll hopefully know what you’re getting.

It was an 85 pack with 69kWh useable, new one is a 100 pack with 91kWh useable

Old millage was 233 miles new is 305 miles.

Old pack 50% SoC would pull 52kW from a supercharger
New pack doesn't drop to 50kW till 82% SoC at a supercharger.

I think cost will vary depending on why the HV battery died and whom you go to for service.

I tell all prospective MS buyers to keep $10k handy if they buy out-of-warranty cars.

Did your upgrade require upgrading the suspension as well? Included in that price from 057Tech?

No I already had the air suspension so they only had to add a couple cables and crap he said.

Ah, right, P85D.
When I look on their site with my VIN, it only shows the 100 option to me.
Do they not offer 85/90 upgrades anymore?

I dono email 057 tech and ask. Besides the 100 is the best way to go anyway

Not very responsive these days. I bought the warranty a while ago, my Tesla warranty runs out soon, and no word on getting the battery monitoring device yet.
