The neoen battery at hornsdale mostly gifted by taxpayers has had no material change to prices in SA. Hence I wouldnt be believing the hype about cheaper power. Our prices dropped less than 1c per kwh, and they dropped FIT by way more than that, with the end result for many being no change.
680 Ballan Road Moorabool, Victoria is the location. It's next to the existing power terminal station. 300MW/450MWh capacity and it'll be a Tesla made battery solution connected to AusNet.
Geelong battery construction has started: Tesla’s 300 MW Megapack Battery farm in Victoria breaks ground
South Australia's big battery slashes $40m from grid control costs in first year Any idea what your bill would be without it?
Well given nett power costs to consumers in SA have not decreased since the french owned battery was installed, I can only assume the average bill would be even higher.
Just because a utility company saves money doesn't mean the consumer is better off. I don't trust any of these companies. Look at the solar rebates: govt offers $1000 bucks rebate, magically all install prices go up by $1000... Trust no-one..
