    Take delivery or cancel?

Most prevalent unresolved issue on these pages - phantom braking. Longest running saga on these pages - FSD. I posted to pass on pertinent information - you?

    Take delivery or cancel?

There may be some minor tweaking under those covers but given they've asked the FCC for a confidentiality extension on a device they're releasing mid January - @greentheonly thinks it's HD radar, he's normally correct. So close, I'd wait.

    Take delivery or cancel?

A poll! Is the outcome predetermined or are you breaking from convention?

Tesla Service in Australia - getting nowhere

I suspect it will be part specific.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Four eyes would know what the fifth was getting up to in the back seat? They could probably just ask Siri or Alexa.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I eventually pushed the seat back a little on my wife's profile and saved. I'm sure she doesn't notice the slight stretch and at least now I'm not at risk of injury getting in.

Any safety benefits of Model 3 AWD in Australia under normal driving conditions?

I've found it quite difficult to break traction in a rwd. Wet roads haven't ever presented a problem and while I've managed to get the back end out once or twice on gravel it was only by trying hard to do just that. Personally I wouldn't trade the additional weight with the same suspension for...

It might come down to where do you stand on Trolley problems. My ute barrels along on its self steering course without pause - I wouldn't want to test it out from the pointy end.

Replacing Tyres on Model 3 - Tesla versus Tyre store

I didn't bother with acoustic foam (T0) tyres - from reading around there's only 1db difference for PS4 (figured the increased likelihood of a roadside flat repair is worth that anyway).

Replacing Tyres on Model 3 - Tesla versus Tyre store

I used Tyresales last month: $259ea

    Spare Tyre for Model 3

I kept the best tyre from the last set - plan to pack it for long trips so that at least Black Stump Tyres has something to work with. Doesn't weigh much and has a handy storage hole in the centre. Also packing a compressor and various tyre repair kits.

Overpass speed change I was referring to isn't from reading a sign, there are none to see - it's either an error in the database or the algorithm - at least it's consistent.

Near an underpass/overpass? I have a couple of spots on my routes where it's changed to the wrong road's speed limit for years.

    ALP electric vehicle policy

They're lumped together because they're mostly speculative - I've included in the 0.6 billion. Hydrogen and CCS in this bucket could also be for gas producers to tap. Remainder ~ 450 million can only be nominated for gas, I'd consider those contracts as good as signed...
  15. D

    ALP electric vehicle policy

The interconnector and gas look like the only tangible things there. Package is 1.08 billion. 0.6 billion covers the interconnector, CCS subsidy/research, thermal solar etc. and hydrogen export (if they meant anything but Blue, they would have said so). Leaves about 0.45 billion, nothing else...

Install solar or move to Tassie (I'd say SA but with yesterday's announcement they'll behind the curve again pretty soon).

    ALP electric vehicle policy

I didn't notice many drops in absolute terms, more displacement by emerging producers. I was in the UK for a couple of years when their government abandoned Rover, MG etc. Production went straight across the Channel to countries with similar economic parameters. I was there building import...

https://www.caradvice.com.au/893706/nsw-is-getting-an-electric-car-manufacturing-facility-worth-700-million/ It was only the peak in the exchange rate that broke the camel along with utter disinterest from the Federal govt. Our wage bills will be similar to Japan and Korea with China fast...

We successfully maintained an entire local car manufacturing ecosystem against similar offshore competitive disadvantages with only marginal interventionist economic drivers for decades. ALP electric vehicle policy

Speaking of shiny clean cars, Extreme E starts today. Hopefully they do as good a job on AGW messaging as they have with the hardware. Climate scientist in the broadcast team what? I'm disturbed that it’s yet another FIA race in Saudi Arabia but without Aramco signs everywhere I'm committed to...

The policy announcement a couple of days before the EV subsidy was on a $15b manufacturing fund - projects for batteries & EV components etc. would specifically be backed. Alternatively we could just try fracking more and see if that works.

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Plan A was 15a in the garage but I installed a 3 phase outlet before delivery anyway (at my meter at the other end of our driveway) - invaluable and probably used more than the 15a gpo.

State based EV road user charge (Overturned 18/10/23)

The wind's changing - even the SNDM (National Department of Marketing) has come up with something to spin as pro-ev (slaps forehead). "The Government says it's looking at: Co-investing (with the private sector) in charging infrastructure A trial of an electric car fleet for COMCAR, which...

What a Biden presidency will mean for EVs, renewable energy and Tesla

I think GM is over the cap as well, maybe why they penned that wacky Nikola deal. To your first point, as far as I can see, the pressure's included in every bullet point - our pollies take direct inspiration (or licence) from US policies / media reporting (on occasion we send a really bad idea...

Damn camera picks up inappropriate speed signs

This one? Tesla has increased the price of its 'Full Self-Driving' option to $10,000 “able to be autonomous but requiring supervision and intervention at times.” Author quotes Musk from the 2019 Q3 earnings call where he describes what the "Feature Complete" version would be able to do. skip to...

Hmm, 30% that's close to now or never territory. First time I've seriously considered it in years. The only justification I can come up with is to stay in line for some of that Robotaxi moolah for my declining years like that guy once said. In which case it's a straight up tax deduction this...

Model 3 Australia - Massive Price Cut

There was a marketing exercise at release that made it attractive at the time but is the P- comparable to LR even with in-app speed boo$t (is it $3k here?)?
  34. D

Model 3 Australia - Massive Price Cut

There's been no change in AP inclusion since the first Oz orders/deliveries ie. AP was included in the base price in June last year as it is now. I just looked at what I paid and the same spec car is still more expensive than then so you may be right about exchange rate.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I don't typically use TACC <60 so can't say much about that but whenever I have someone close on my tail or a car in front is turning from any lane, I have a toe resting on the go pedal. I don't recall an actual braking event without TACC on - just some unhappy beeps. I think I'm as worried...

Why can't I buy a model 3 fob in Australia?

I very rarely have the Tesla app open or even running in the background, key functions pretty close to faultlessly (flat phone excluded). I'd say I've had to either explicitly wake my phones (6s or XR) or launch the app 5 times in a year to get in/drive.

Tax payer funded ABC TV now advertising Tesla cars.

A little different, the ABC in the US gets a little more freedom - doesn't have its budget cut when Jimmy Kimmel makes a joke about the government.

    Gen 2 UMC Charger tails?

No sparks. Chip was indeed in the NEMA end - used (my!) bench grinder to remove plastic around the plug - followed and freed up the main conductors first - then it was pretty easy to see the path of the two sense wires and liberate the termination unscathed - considered leaving it in a blob of...

I've lately developed a bit of a beef with people that are happy making uninformed decisions - consuming/disseminating easily debunked disinformation particularly. My math's different: EVSE Adapters NEMA 10-50 (cut off the NEMA end) USD40 = AUD60 32A 5pin angled plug (ebay)= AUD25 Screwdrivers = AUD2 (borrow neighbours but give him a coffee) I'll update if sparks ensue.
