Of course, I realized that both the car and phone could be online via WiFi in a lot of campgrounds where you're likely to be charging, but not in many remote campsites (but you wouldn't be charging there). So maybe it isn't a big issue.

I stayed at a KOA with a charger last weekend and, while it had Wifi, it was useless and unstable. Fortunately, if I charged my phone in one VERY specific spot, I could eke out 1 bar of LTE, and similarly if I parked my car in one very specific part on that side. Still, you can't count on Wifi at a campground.
