Does it work for you with the trunk open, pointing into the trunk? If so, welcome to the club!Same issue with my plaid. Pressing the button on the charger handle never opens the door.

Do you have a link to this? I'd like to reference it for my upcoming service appointment.Right. Keep us posted as to how that goes. One of the forum members here said it required an antenna repositioning/rework to fix it.

It helped my case with walk away lock not working be taken more seriously.I don't have a link, and the reps generally don't care about other people's fixes and won't reference them. Some service reps will take that info and add to notes, but specific car invoices/VINs/work done they will not use officially.
Yup. That’s what they replaced for me this week which solved the same issue. Now it works anywhere you’d reasonably expect to press the charger button. In my case, it was defective since day of pickup (August 5, 2021).For me it worked for a few months then had the problem. If I put the connector almost touching then it would open. I opened ticket and they replaced the charge port. All good now as I now have about 5' of range.

I have this exact setup/circumstances and mine doesn't work either.I have the refreshed 2021 model s and the current version of the HPWC.
Haven’t been to the supercharger yet, so haven’t tried their buttons.
Port opens fine with the app/touchscreen, but it has never worked with the button on the HPWC
Thanks! I’ll let the service team know.
These are the parts they replaced during the 1st appointment and it didn’t fix the issue:
ASSY, MOTORIZED 1.00 CHARGEPORT DOOR, SAE(1038548-00-I)
ASY. CHARGE PORT 1.00 CONTROLLER GEN 4 NA(1619321-10-A)
mobile service just replaced this part on Friday, and the charge port door has been working perfectly so far!

I absolutely love this forum. Picked up a Model S earlier this month and it’s been this way for a week now. Thanks to all for helping to diagnose root cause here.Yep, that is 100% the fix. For anyone else in the same boat, don't let Tesla waste your time with other attempts to fix it.
Looks like I have this problem in mineCorrect, they replaced that for me on my first visit - and that is NOT the fix. The door and controller are just fine. It's the antenna built into the charge port itself that's the problem. This is the only part needed:

Just schedule service and they’ll be able to sort it for you. You have all the information you need, assuming it’s the exact same problem that many of us had.Looks like I have this problem in mine
Any chance this is something that can be inspected for a loose connection? Mine won't open even when in the trunk
