Visited the service centre today and they had the Plaid on display. I was talking to my SA about the stock floor mats and he pointed out the door sills have a carpeted lining instead of plastic which attracts dirt and salt especially in the winter. He recommended treating this area.

Has anyone treated or covered the carpeted door sill area?

I heard from my SA last night. Model Xs are pending final winter testing for Canada. I suspect that it's to ensure that the X doesn't have the same problem encountered with the 3/Y heat pump in cold conditions. I've got a March EDD, but think it's going to slip to April by the time it's all done. After that, who knows.

Are they really doing any winter testing or it could be that they are just holding on canadian model x deliveries untill spring so they have less heat pump complaints to deal with and avoid bad press. I see from model y/3 thread heat pump issues still continue to exist with even latest software update. Its been exactly 1 year since I ordered my model x and i am not counting on March delivery as well.

I'll phrase it this way: anything is possible. When you look through the heat pump thread, there's at least one person who suspects that their refreshed S is having problems. That said, I "think" Tesla might be taking an active roll in the investigation - I don't rightly know, but hope that's the case. Whether software actually fixes anything - who knows. I've not had a chance to see if there's any further details on what's happening on that thread today to see if there's anything further on the fixes that some owners have undergone - replacement of the supermanifold.

S deliveries have been ongoing in Canada since late October, and it's around that time that the X started (in fits) to do deliveries in the US. That's around a full quarter, which by my measure is about right before Canada starts getting them - whether for Canadian certification reasons or otherwise. We'll probably find out on the 15th whether any deliveries start happening just because that'll be about the time that the EDD is most likely to change.

My MSLR is due in a month and I won’t take it. I have been away from the forum for a while. Are there people still looking to jump the line or is it over?
I have the old price locked in red, black 19s 117k$ instead of 122k$.

Mine arrived at the delivery center yesterday - should take delivery this week, hopefully Wednesday if the delivery team clears it!

And just in time too, because this elephant is back:

Did you pick it up yet? How is it?

Tomorrow morning! They found some residual glue that caused paint damage when they tried to remove it, so it’s in getting that paint touched up now. I have a small hope I’ll get a call this afternoon to go get it, but it’s officially tomorrow morning.

I’ll only have an hour with it before I take it straight to detailing for 5 days of PPF. More waiting! I’ll try and get delivery pictures before I drop it off though.

Took delivery this morning. A real beauty, only minor issues, mostly weather stripping (the guy who installed it must have been hung over that day, it’s terrible all around). A couple misalignments that are probably minor enough they won’t bother fixing. Only got to drive it 10 mins before dropping off for PPF, but my gosh she’s fast!

Not surprising for an NF469, old lights all around for those who care😜

Looks awesome, congratulations!

I’m picking mine tomorrow in Oakville, ON. Was informed vehicle inspection can’t occur indoors which is odd given the weather so not sure how much time I’ll be able to spend outside in the cold before signing off on everything. Just hope anything obvious they’ve already addressed considering the vehicle arrived a couple days back.

They told me they usually do the inspection outside, but since my delivery was delayed a few days (border slowdown and paint touchups), they opened the Service center early Saturday morning so I could still make my PPF appointment that day. Super cool of them. Since we were the only 2 people in the building, he pulled it inside and let me do the inspection in there. They were great about it.
