That $1,300 fee has been there, listed from day one.
From what I’ve seen, they aren’t even close to what the other car manufacturers are.
They have the one $1,300 fee, which was posted day one when you ordered.

They deliver the cars from Fremont.
Tesla could either increase the price of the car to factor in shipping, or they could tack it on top, which they did.
I’ve shipped a car before. Cost $800 (that was 12 years ago) and I still had to drop it off and pick it up from the train yard.

It sounds like you’re suggesting that they should start waiving the costs of the car to compensate you for the 10 weeks you’ve waited.
Even though you knew it would take a long time up front, and the fees were identified up front.

That doesn’t sound reasonable. ..
You should be happy you will soon have one of the best cars ever to hit the market.

Many can’t afford them, and have to settle with a Civic or something.
They will also pay way more hidden fees then you will, and they still won’t have a Tesla.

Be happy, look for the positive side of this new car. :)

Documentation fees are BS however you spin it. I was being unnecessarily salty, sure, but you are paid to sell cars so don't make me pay you to fill out the paper work at the end. A friend who just bought a brand new X3 had all of this waived. Pretty sure those are shipped from North Dakota (or at least, Mercedes are).

All cars sold in BC are shipped from thousands of kms away. Cambridge, ON (Toyota) and Windsor, ON (Ford) are three times as far away. Is the delivery fee the same in Vancouver as it is in Toronto? Because then us west coast buyers are subsidizing Ontario buyers (I'm purely making a point and not looking to open a debate).

And yes, delivery and documentation should be included in the price of the car. Making money on a car is such a novel concept, I know.

But yes, it was on my agreement and I knew I would be waiting. I'm a Day 1 reservation holder after all. Besides, it wasn't the wait I was annoyed with, it was the COMPLETE lack of communication for 10 weeks after they took another $3,200 from me.

I am very excited by my car and it's pending arrival and I know how fortunate I am. This is my very first new car, as is it for my wife. I would just be THAT smidge happier if I didn't feel like I was being taken advantage of like a traditional dealer.

Picked up my AWD today and saw a mixture of 3's including performance and white interior editions this morning.

Have some alignment issues with the passenger front bumper fender and hood area. The specialist didn't think there is much that can be done but will look into it. The worst part is my tail light has fingerprints on the inside, which they will replace. I mean if it's Elon's greasy fingerprints, I'll be cool with that, but I doubt it.

Seems I can't edit my previous post (or I haven't figured it out yet).

Just got off the phone. VIN was assigned yesterday, but there isn't a Delivery Advisor or what have you assigned to my file yet. They will know more and be able to fix the issue above.

I noticed something else that I failed to remember to ask. For some reason the configured cost is $78k but the financing app calls for $79.3. Not sure on the discrepancy, but will update when I learn more.

The customer service rep on the phone said "Good news, having a VIN assigned means it's 1-month to 1.5-months out." I thought it was going to be much quicker than that, but I bet they are shifting all cars to Ontario for at least the next week until the incentive expires, and then focusing on the US for the same reason. Only speculating though!
Could be the $1300’delivery charge

I am an online reservation holder from 01-Apr-16, non-owner. On 26-Jun, I ordered a black performance version with white interior and the performance upgrade. Heard nothing from Tesla until 28-Aug when I received an e-mail from Michael Lim. The e-mail said that my car is "finishing with production" and they wanted to confirm payment arrangements, trade-in, etc. BTW, I am paying cash with no trade in. Got a follow-up e-mail the day after answering a couple of questions I had and handing me off to my DA, Ibrahim Chaudhry. Got a call the next day (30-Aug) from Ibrahim saying that my car had been produced and was waiting in a parking lot for logistics to get it up to Calgary. I requested home delivery, info on how I can pay for the car, and a VIN. Was told I would get that information right away in a follow-up e-mail. That e-mail has never arrived. I sent a follow-up e-mail earlier this week and nothing.

I find the gaps in communication are a little frustrating. We're so close now that I can taste it and I just want to get my car. It's interesting to read the experiences of others, especially the differences in communication and dates when, on the surface, you'd expect us all to be getting relatively similar deliveries and treatment.

Has there been many AWD deliveries to the Calgary location anyone?
