Did you actually wet the sos pad and use the soap that comes in the pad, or could one just as easily use un-soaped steel wool? Thanks. After washing car and using standard window cleaners, there remains a streaked film on both windshields (and I assume the moon roof). What is it and how do I get rid of it. TIA
Steel wool I would not recommend. Use the special glass cleaner for oily film remover on new cars, labeled as such. O don't recall the brand but it is at Walmart.
You’re doing it wrong. Apply twice, the wipe off with a really clean but damp microfiber cloth.Agreed. One example is rainx. Left a film worse than Windex..
Between using Meguiar's Quik Mist and Wipe Detailer and Sprayway Glass cleaner, I think I have solved the gunk problem. I have now discovered what seems to be, potentially, a defect in the safety glass itself. When the sun is at a low angle, say sunrise plus 2-3 hours or sunset minus 2-3 hours, the windshields have a consistent appearance that I can only describe as having the look that they have been finely sandblasted. When the sun is higher, the windshields are totally clear---no sign of sandblast effect. Could there be a defect in the film (sheet) that is sandwiched in the glass??After washing car and using standard window cleaners, there remains a streaked film on both windshields (and I assume the moon roof). What is it and how do I get rid of it. TIA
Thank you. Will give them a try.Griots sells a special clay bar for windows. Should remove the most stubborn forms of ick... use with their speed shine as lubricant
