CCS Retrofit Availability (2023)

I'm wondering why they include it in the service section of the app, especially when appointments aren't available. I guess they want to encourage people to get it?

It won't be free. Based on the aftermarket retrofits that many of us have done, it should be doable by mobile service technicians and should take less than 30 minutes. I'm guessing that the reason they have it show up prominently is to keep a lot of people from opening service requests asking to get the retrofit done or asking info on it.

Message on the app still says check back in early 2023. I guess "early" for Tesla is sometime in the second fiscal quarter or later.

Looks like S/X retrofits are available but the 3/Y are delayed to “mid-2023” based on the product page for the CCS adapter. Also looks like it is $450 for the retrofit and does include the adapter.

Honestly $450 with the adapter thrown in is a very reasonable price. You can DIY it for a bit less, but many will not be comfortable doing that.

I was able to schedule my mobile appointment for my Model S for the adapter retrofit. About a one week wait.

Location? Did the service center confirm the appt? My service center in NW FL cancelled mine saying parts aren’t yet available.

Woohoo, I now have CCS. Appointment took a bit longer than expected since I was the technician's first retro install. He said they had a dozen or so scheduled for the week.
