Charging with 6-20 adapter

I hope this person didn't. There's really no benefit, a transformer doesn't make more power available. If you double your voltage, you also double the current drawn on the primary side of the transformer (the 120V side).
This has to be a misunderstanding thus my asking a question. Worst possible case is they could not rewire as a 240V because it was a shared circuit so they put a transformer on it. I assume this is a misunderstanding since an electrician was involved.
