Video doesn't indicate anything about fare charges, RoboTaxi or CyberTaxi. Any thoughts?

Does it show the car driving around with no backup driver and transporting this lady wherever she wants to go?
No, I said teaser video because it doesn't show whether anyone is in the driver seat. But it does show the destination is 5 miles away, so drive must be on city streets and "coming soon" won't happen without a driver in driver seat, otherwise no auto insurance company, anytime "soon", is going to insure any car driving around autonomously without a driver.

I wouldn't read into it too much. It's a pretty low investment for some designers and software engineers to start thinking about a ride hailing app and build some prototypes. I'm glad they're doing that, so it's not rushed - but I wouldn't infer any FSD timelines from it

This seems to be meaningless drivel to make gullible investors think that Tesla will compete with Uber sometime "soon". "Summon" is intended to strongly suggest that the summon feature from the Model S will be available again, after it magically starts to work right. It won't be available anytime soon if "soon" means "in the next five years".

The fact that the woman controls the temperature remotely is to suggest that she is in control of the car, and therefore that the car is driverless. "This is the robotaxi that Elon has been hyping recently!" is what the video is intended to make you think. As with all of Elon's imaginings, there can be a very long time between "coming soon" and fruition.

I would love to see Tesla Insurance insure their own "self-driving car" with no driver in the driver's seat :) Put their money where their mouth is.

Feeding the shareholders something to speculate about. That’s what this video is about and who it is for.

Tesla’s definition of “soon” is very loose and not on par with most people’s expectations.

Does anyone really think the Cybercab is coming before 2027?

Does anyone believe that the existing fleet has the hardware and will have the software to support this feature the way it’s represented? Will it pass regulatory hurdles to be legal any time “soon?”

2027 is very optimistic too. This advert is speculation for the market. That’s it. Let’s see what they demonstrate and make tangible during the “big” event in August.

Agreed! I'll believe it when I see it - it seems like another one of Elon's dreams that may or may not come to fruition. If it does, awesome. For now, they still need to get FSD finished.

Some of you are reading too much into it. Nowhere does it suggest FSD. This is what Uber is already doing, just slightly more advanced :

-summon your ride
-adjust the interior temperature
-view progress

My guess is that this is Uber with Tesla’s - there will be a driver. May or not be using FSD (with a driver in the seat).

I think it’s a good idea. I have a model 3, not an Uber driver but if I could ride share from my Tesla app whenever I feel like it, why not?
