Connecticut (Mt. Kisco) AWD delivery

As I am reading this thread, not having heard back from numerous emails sent and calls that won't go though to corporate or Mt Kisco, I get an email (11:30pm) that my scheduled delivery for tomorrow (11/6), has been re-scheduled to November 14th. The dreaded Chicago rail delay.

I am glad I didn't sign my loan papers yet, and had just enough time to cancel the start of my insurance coverage. I have a new contact person at Tesla, which I hope is a good thing, because my other contacts have gone completely silent. I would have appreciated one of them telling me before the 11th hour. I would have been more upset if I had paid my balance by ACH and signed my loan papers early.

I can't help but wonder if the other advisors said nothing on the off chance I might send in my $$ via ACH. Bring a check with you on delivery day and make sure you get confirmation before you head in to the delivery center, as other have recommended.

I got the delivery last night and it was smooth. My situation was similar to yours and I was very frustrated as you do now. When I went there I felt sorry for those guys working there. Fortunately they are all youngsters with a lot of energy to cope with such a pressure. I was made to wait for an hour before my DA attended me. I would blame Elon for all the Chaos. There were at least 10 reservation holders were waiting before me at 6.00PM! I came out with my car around 8.30PM. And everyone was working busily as if it was 9.00AM! I would suggest that you stick to your contact in Nevada for now. I am sorry to say that you will not hear from anyone at Mt.Kisco until they have your car ready. Good luck.

Sounds familiar. I was supposed to take delivery Nov 2 from Mt Kisco but on Nov 1 when I called to confirm it was there I was told shipment was late, wouldn't arrive till next week. Maybe truck did break down, or something.

A little concerned now, because they rescheduled me for Nov 8th but today my Tesla Account changed... It no longer shows Mt Kisco, delivery date or VIN... It has just gone back to the generic "Estimated Delivery by Nov' 2018"

...did the truck drive off a cliff?
I have picked up last night and heard that a truck full of Cars have gone to one of NJ centers. I have seen couple of disappointed reservation holders. I heard that they were given the same date as yours. But, the kids who work and deliver the cars have no clue on why are what. They don't pick up the phone fearing that we all will flip out on them. I did and I felt sorry when I was there.

Where exactly do you see your VIN number in the account? I only see my reservation number. I have delivery on Nov 19th and was given my VIN number through email by my DA.

VIN will show on your MVPA first (In the Documents section).

Mine also showed on my account page under my order number a few days before my scheduled delivery. However my delivery was delayed and rescheduled for 8 days from now and it no longer appears on my account page. It will hopefully re-appear when my delivery is imminent, though the appearance of a VIN on the account page is apparently meaningless.

And @oakdalean - Thank you for your reply and congratulations on taking delivery!

I ordered a P3- back in August. I received a text message on Oct 12 from someone at corporate to schedule delivery, which I did for 10/29. On Thur 10/25 I called the person at corporate to reconfirm my Monday delivery and was told that the truck was delayed and it wouldn't be arriving into Mt. Kisco until Friday 11/2 and I rescheduled to 11/7. On 11/5 I again called the person at corporate and confirmed that the vehicle was actually at Mt. Kisco and my 11/7 delivery wast still on target. On the evening of 11/6, I received an email from a "delivery experience specialist" at Mt. Kisco, confirming the 11/7 scheduled delivery.

I arrived at Mt. Kisco at 1:15PM for my 1:30PM scheduled delivery and checked in. They did not appear to be particularly organized and I waited an hour and 15 minutes until someone said they were ready for me. I heard a litany of complaints from others waiting for their cars as well (delivery rescheduled 4x, unable to get a human being on the phone, etc.). Once they told me they were ready for me, I then waited another 20 minutes before they came back with my paperwork. The paperwork got done relatively quickly but I had to wait an extra 10 minutes to get a "binder" from my insurance company (apparently the insurance cards I got were insufficient). Once paperwork was done, I had to wait another 10 minutes to get the shuttle (a Model X) over to the warehouse where they deliver the cars.

Once there I took my time and gave the car a thorough inspection (it looked great and I didn't find any issues) and then had someone pair my phone and just walk me through the differences between the Model 3 and the Model S (I was trading in my 4 year old S85D). I left teh warehouse at about 4PM.

Interestingly, the car had a 10/18 build date but it only had V8 software installed (but had the update clock icon). The car also only had 100 miles of charge. I drove home (only 15 miles), plugged in the car and told it to update and 45 minutes later I had V9 with Autopilot on NAV functionality.

This is the 4th Tesla I had delivered from White Plains/Mt. Kisco and each time delivery took longer, but I guess its to be expected--- when I took delivery of my first S, they were probably delivering 4 a week. They had 45 scheduled deliveries today and they said that is a slow day.

Well they are young and inexperienced, and their mechancis who normally charge $175/hr or something crazy couldn't answer me on whether or not the wheels on a Model 3 were staggered or not. This was enough for me to avoid the Mt. Kisco location and head to Paramus for the foreseeable future. Their delivery/sales team is good though. There are some good people working there, just not any that I experienced in management when it comes to something like wheels or tires (you know - the main component of a moving object).

Thanks for the update Robbo. I'm scheduled to pick up tomorrow and just learned (after 5pm) I need to have copy of the insurance BINDER, not just the card. I wasn't sure they were using the right word, but your post confirms it. Here's hoping I can get that first thing in the morning, and my agent isn't out sick or something. :/

It's finally over. Delivery last Friday afternoon/evening. A couple of photos here. One is the inside of the "delivery" building which seems to be a temporary former factory with offices attached. Another is a pic of the car. It was raining madness on Friday in more ways than one. Here's the process I observed. 1)Go to regular dealership location at your appointment time. They will process your needed DMV and payment paperwork. 2)Wait for shuttle to delivery location (they are using a Model X). 3)Wait at delivery location where a lot-person/detailer will bring the prepped car to delivery facility. 4)They will wipe down the car if you want, was wet, and then affix stickers, plates and orient you to the car. I was told they have another detailing/prep location (might have been the dealership) where the cars come from. Seemed like the detailing didn't happen until you completed payment. Again, I'm really not sure. I'm sure you could push to see your car before payment if you asked. It all went quickly enough, and I only had a couple of problems with the process. They do have fast chargers there driven by a generator if you need to top up. I was at like 170 miles and that was fine. We drove to Cosimo's restaurant which had a supercharger for dinner. That was fantastic (even more fantastic are the haters writing Yelp reviews angry at chargers being there). Put your charge on 100% and go have dinner. No idle fee.

Moral of the story (and confirmed by my "sales person"). The end of quarter push that Tesla normally does was a complete failure last quarter. As most of us know that had our cars given to others, etc., etc. If they just keep a nice smooth pace and keep improving this could work. They are doing 60 cars a day here. By the way, a Model S customer was getting the exact same "deluxe" treatment as anyone else (and he wasn't happy and let them know it).

Had a delivery scheduled for tomorrow 12/6 and just got this:

Unfortunately our Mt. Kisco location has to reschedule your delivery appointment for tomorrow because they have not received any in-transit permits. All Connecticut and out-of-State registrants need to be rescheduled from tomorrow to Monday 12/10 or later. We are currently lobbying with the State to allow Tesla to do business and we appreciate your support and patience. I currently have rescheduled you for 12/10 at 10AM. Please let me know if that does not work for you and we can adjust accordingly. Again we apologize for any inconvenience.
Anyone else have a delivery scheduled for the next few days? Is there an issue with CT, different than before? Or did they just run out of temp/"in transit" plates?

Rescheduled 3 times in the last 48hrs. Does anyone know what's going at Mt Kisco in regards to CT deliveries? They are still stating an issue with CT In Transit permits and all CT buyers are being rescheduled. True?

I just spoke to someone that seemed to explain the situation clearly. Wed 12/6 NY State DMV stopped issuing In Transit Permits to Tesla, assuming because of political tax reasons. This is the way CT residents were taking delivery and driving home legally, since CT flat out will not allow Tesla to sell vehicles in the state. Supposedly they are lobbying the NY state and NYDMV to reverse their decision. The work around for any CT resident is to pick up your car from NJ for now (before they catch on).

When I picked up in Mt Kisco they had me fill out a NY sales tax exemption form (DTF-820) stating that I would not be operating the car, even with a temp registration, in NY . Obviously that was not true since they issued me a NY temp registration. My guess is that NY caught on and wants some sales tax money.

The question is, if you pay NY sales tax, will CT credit it against sales taxes owed to them?

I am still waiting for my delivery from Mt. Kisko. I accidently placed an order to MA and found out that they don't sell car to CT residence. I have been calling ISA, MA and Mt. Kisko. They told me that they are relocating car from MA to NY. But no definite delivery date yet. Is it something to with NY sales tax?

We're in the same boat. CT residents that were supposed to pick up our Model 3 today and got reschedule to next weekend due to this problem. We were told there is nothing that they can do. Maybe we'll request to have the car transferred to NJ and see what they say. I'm worried this is going to keep getting pushed back and we will miss out on the federal tax credit.

Hi thadd677, did they really re-schedule you to next weekend? It seems like I should call them and ask them to transfer my car from MA to NJ.

My strongest recommendation is to reschedule deliveries from Mt Kisco if you want to avoid further headaches. My delivery was delayed and delayed again. My scheduled appointment took a two hour wait and 3 complaints to get my car. I started pushing for my CT tags/plates two weeks ago, and was told they'd be here by now. I'm now told they're a week away still, because "some client's registrations are taking longer." Why? This is not a new process.

I was just told they're behind on registering cars due to "increased volume" and I won't get my CT plates/tags until a week after the temporary plates expire. No mention of problems with the NY DMV and transit permits. Seems to me if they new they had ab increased volume of cars coming in, they should have been aware they'd be an increase volume of processing registrations. At a minimum, they should have advised customers there will be delays, offered rebates, rental cars, options to do it myself or even an apology.

After tomorrow, I cant legally drive my new car. I have no other car. I have appointments next week I won't be able to meet. My experience has been too many unexplained delays, poor customer service, and a demonstrated lack of concern. Don't trust the Mt. Kisco Telsa center for good information or adequate (let alone good) customer service. Go anywhere else that you can.

Really sorry you folks in CT are having so many issues. Just as a counterpoint, I’m from NH and my delivery at Mt Kisco was seamless. The title arrived via FedEx at my house 10 days after delivery, no issues whatsoever. It was ver y well organized.
