For real. I'm not mad/upset with people that get the MYP or switch to it, but that is pure bullshit from Tesla. F*$k Tesla and their prioritization.
100%.. Overpromise, underdeliver and screw your customers.. that's Tesla. This is a joke of a car company. I am sure most car companies will catch up to them soon and we will not be at the mercy of one bull$$it company - Battery technology, AI, SD will be commodity in a few years.

Hey there! Can't PM you, but could you give me a referral for DCU? I noticed you're in Atlanta and you used them. I'm in SF and the best rates from my CU seem to be in the mid 2.5% range. Would love to get 1
I know some people were complaining a few weeks ago about how long they were on hold waiting for DCU to process their loan documents. Here is my experience.

TL:DR version: I wanted to get 100% financing, with $0 down. Tesla didn't offer that (even with a rate match), so I went with DCU for 1.24%, $0 down, 65 months. Very easy process. Got a check the next day (on a Saturday!) after signing through DocuSign.

---------------------------

I applied for financing with DCU online (super easy) on June 29th. I got an email saying they needed a vehicle purchase agreement to finish processing the loan with a link where I could upload the document. Obviously I didn't have a VIN, so no MVPA yet. My loan application was good for 45 days.

I received my VIN on Day 44 (*phew!). I contacted my SA and had her change my financing from Tesla (Chase) to 3rd party and told her I would be financing 100% with DCU. She put that info in the system and emailed me the MVPA with all of that info included (VIN, DCU as financing party, amounts due, etc).

I quickly uploaded the MVPA to DCU using the link provided. I got a confirmation email that the docs were received by DCU & call the number listed to complete the processing. It was late, so I decided to call the next morning. Friday morning, I called and the hold times were about 45min to 1hr20. The system prompted me if I wanted a call back and it would hold my place in line. Sure enough I got a call back in about an hour and ended up only waiting about on hold for a total of 10 minutes.

The woman I spoke with was extremely helpful and I added GAP insurance for $295 while were were on the phone (since I was financing 100%). She went over the terms and we set up my first auto-draft for 60 days out! She was very familiar with Tesla and asked questions about the design I had chosen. We also discussed whether I wanted to send the money directly to Tesla but I told her I would prefer to have a check to take with me. That wasn't a problem, she would have a check to my house within 1 to 2 biz days. She also said I would get a DocuSign no later than EOB. I think it came through a few hours later. I signed - and within an hour - I had a FedEx tracking number for a next day, Saturday delivery!

Getting a loan from DCU couldn't have been easier and I ended up having a check in hand for my delivery in plenty of time.

This is just my experience, but if you would like a referral to DCU, pls PM me or comment on the post if you are new and can't PM yet.
Please send PM for referral, I am new here. thanks

Wooohooo!
Yea! I am still on for delivery on Monday 23rd, I have received the button to make payments, so gonna do that soon. I had to call them, never got a call from them lol, but they confirmed that they are gonna deliver it to my home!
Yay, that’s awesome!! We had to do a lot of calling on our end, so I feel you on that. But home delivery was super easy and they communicated every step of the way as they were gearing up bring her over. I’m so excited for you!!

@potter287 Is there anyway you can outline the steps you go through for taking a Texas Delivery. I have read that you have to pay for the car ahead of delivery. Did you finance? Also how does registration and plates work, do you have to drive to the DMV or Tax office to obtain this? Thanks!

So, you got an approval from DCU, then had the Tesla Rate Match team match your 1.24% at 72 months from DCU and just used Tesla's financing? That seems easy enough!
I think the only difference between DCU & Tesla is the down payment. Tesla requires you to pay taxes & registration fees up front (in my state that's about $4500), DCU will finance the entire transaction. They will honor the rate, but not the $0 down.

You aren’t at their mercy now so why are you complaining? VW, Hyundai, Kia, Ford, Chevy, etc., have EV’s. Tesla is not the only game in town. If I felt as you do I certainly wouldn’t do business with them.

Ordered YLR on 8/3 and was told by the sales guy that I should expect December delivery. But order page shows 11/4-24 for a couple weeks. Jumps to 11/3-23 and back every couple days. What’s the chance that I’ll see it by Thanksgiving? Also, we put down a cash sale but in fact we’ll have to finance about ⅓. Sales guy said he’d handle the change. When should we do that?

Hey! I’m more than happy to outline the steps, it might be all over the place bc im chasing a toddler at the moment 🥴 but I’ll do my best to recap!

My experience purchasing a Y is a wee bit different due to the fact my bank has an standing agreement with Tesla and will not release funds until after we take delivery. So we didn’t sign our MVPA/handled funds until they arrived with the car. However, it seems like there is a designated team in Texas that will reach out to you to handle the logistics
around finance.

leading up to delivery:
8/11 VIN assigned
8/12:called tesla line to see next steps, told us car will arrive the next day and to look out for a text schedule delivery.
8/13: get said text to schedule
8/14: called tesla line again asking about delivery. they said we have to wait til we get assigned a delivery specialist. They gave us an email that handles finance/logistics for Texas it’s: [email protected] — they will email you about finance and will send over the MVPA to sign and handle the next steps with finance (I think)
8/15: they pushed the date back a day because of paperwork issues with the dmv - and to answer you question — they handled everything for us for the dmv. They had the paper plates taped on the back window when the car arrived. So as far as I know, we don’t have to do anything else except wait for the plates to come in the mail. But then again it’s Tesla so I could be wrong?

basically, once you get the vin, car arrives, you get to pick a delivery date and then as you get closer to said delivery date a delivery specialist will be assigned and they will (or should) handle everything for you! I hope this helps if it doesn’t make sense, I blame the toddler 🙂

@Firocity i stand corrected. My husband just told me we have to make an appointment with Travis county in a few weeks to handle registration!

A whole lot of first world anger problems going on right now. Relax, people. We're all pretty damn lucky if our worst problem in life is waiting for a Tesla.
I do however feel for the people who already sold their cars. I am not one of them, but I think that is helpful information to hand out to anyone considering buying a Tesla: Don't sell your car until you get it!

They are waiting a week before we all get moved to "October" again.
