Does anyone know when Tesla typically assign VIN's? Is it once a car has cleared production they assign or is it at some other stage?

I think it's *supposed* to be once a car has cleared production, but (in my case and I've heard other stories), I had a VIN *and* a confirmed delivery date, then it was canceled the evening before delivery date and I was told that my VIN hadn't made it off the assembly line. They then removed the VIN.

10 days later, I have another VIN and another confirmed delivery date. Honestly, I'm not holding my breath, but fingers crossed.

If you don't like crushing disappointment, don't believe anything Tesla says until you actually see the car with your own eyes.

What’s your build date (June or July)? I wonder if the recent “week off” at Fremont factory was to prep for the Bioweapon Defense Mode. I wonder if there are any other surprises.

Honestly I’m not sure where I’d find that. I looked around the app for a minute and didn’t see it. I went to the Tesla store and simply purchased one without an appointment.

Are we sure that is the US model? I know they have been doing that in China for a long time but it never made it to the US (along with so much more, think door panels, etc.)

Yeah me too... cuz at this point I may have to reject the VIN and wait for another... I mean its already been over two months at this point so what's another two to get something positive out of it all

I should really stop checking the EDD, Friday was 8/16-9/10 I think, Saturday it went to October, yesterday it went back down to 9/10-9/30 and now today it’s 9/30-10/20. But I can’t help myself SMH.
