Well guys, I am giving it to the end of the week for something(Anything) to happen. Ordered months ago. If nothing happens Ill request a refund(it says non refundable but at the time it also said 7-10 week delivery)and have to get a gas vehicle. I tried to go with the most basic build. For the record it says profile complete July 20th(which is very incorrect) July 15th I requested to remove my trade in. It wasn't until I called on July 20th that they told me their was a glitch and they needed to do something in my profile. So it essentially kicked me to the back of the line and reset everything. I tried to go with the most basic build. Scheduled a vacation in October around the model Y(Traveling). Was assured they are looking for cancelled deliveries. Was told I was put on a "high Priority" list. Did this happen? Who knows. Before I cancelled my trade in it showed early august-late august. Then after its October, then disappears. Tesla chat said they don't have a EDD for my vehicle. I cant honestly say this process has went down the shitter compared to when I ordered my model 3 performance in 2018. I honestly feel like no one knows what is actually going on at the factory. Like tesla keeps the SA in the dark and told to give us BS.
My model Y is 3k cheaper then what they are sold for now. They did offer my a performance but at full price(10k more then what I'm paying on the LR).
Having a wife and a kid its hard to only have one car. If tesla could just be honest with us it would be better but they don't tell us anything.
Any advice anyone?

If I was a sales associate with Tesla (at least according to glassdoor) I could not afford a Tesla.

When I took delivery in 2014 it felt really awkward when the delivery specialist thanked me for supporting the company so that "people like me" can get a Tesla some day. She was about my age, and actually dated a friend of mine once up a time. Wonder if she ever ended up with one once they weren't, yaknow, the price of a house...

I think it really comes down to your transportation needs and your feelings about why you chose a MY. Being down to one car in our family too, I definitely feel your pain there. But for me, I was coming from an Acadia with horrendous gas mileage. I felt like my second home was the gas station and the difference between payment + gas on that car and the payment on our MY is barely anything. I am not a car person, at all. But when I sat in the MY, I knew I loved it. I have never felt that way about a car before, so I’ll wait as long as it takes.

Do you have the option to pick up a cheaper “beater” car while you wait out the MY? That may buy you some time with the transportation issue in the meantime. Hang in there!! Everyone who has received their MY says it’s absolutely worth the wait and I absolutely believe them. A year from now, we’ll have these amazing cars and the wait will seem like it was nothing 💕

Similar situation, sold my last car in may before deciding on placing the Tesla order because I felt the carvana offer was ridiculous.

If I don’t have my MY by end of September I’m going to need to get something that isn’t going to plummet in value and prove awd when the snow arrives to hold me over until the Tesla arrives. That leaves me with Lexus, Toyota, Honda and Acura as my options with best value retention - as much as I love my Bmw’s I know I won’t recover my down payment if I were to buy one for a short term until getting the Tesla.

So you ordered 3 weeks ago and are upset you don't have it yet despite a 7-10 week estimate. What's the issue?

I feel you on this one. This shite is frustrating. I wouldn't be able to do this on one car. No way. I'm about ready to start looking at other cars myself. Especially if I have to wait until October or November. If I knew it was going to take this long, I would have gotten a Mustang Mach-e when it was still available (and at retail) at my local dealer. I thought the Tesla experience would be better than working with a dealer. I got a M3LR for my wife last Christmas and its been great.

It really does feel like they are messing with us. A little honesty would go a long way in my book. This feels like the 90's when everyone wanted a Honda Odyssey so the dealers treated all their customers like crap. I guess no one is immune to being extremely popular. They know if we cancel our orders someone else will take the car - whenever its ready. In my opinion they don't care. I'm going to stop getting worked up about it and decide what I'm doing if and when my order becomes available. I have a sense that when that happens I will have other capable vehicles to choose from.

Best of luck!

It shouldn't. Adding FSD should not constitute an order change. Adding FSD on existing order is also pretty much the only thing you can do yourself, online, without having to call your SA. Removing FSD online updates your pricing. Removing FSD via SA seems to be inconsistent - some SAs help the customer, some SAs screw the customer and update their pricing.

Remember, you can also add FSD after delivery and pay the $10k with a credit card, for people who don't want to finance the cost. So it wouldn't make sense to penalize active existing orders for adding FSD.
My SA told me it would change price. We had it originally and dropped it for fear we’d lose current pricing.

Have you looked into a short-term lease takeover? Idk what all is entirely involved, but it seems like a way to get a really nice temporary car while you wait 🤷🏻‍♀️

Dont get me wrong I love the Model Y. But at the same time tesla is not being transparent at all. Like others have mentioned, i am starting to believe they are skipping the older orders because the price difference. My model Y is 50,9xx compared to 53,9xx.

That's exactly the issue. They know if you don't take the car someone else will. They don't care. But in the long run that will hurt them.

Thought about a lease takeover but getting out of it sooner than expected or extending it if the Tesla takes forever may be an issue. Leaves me with the one option to buy something that will hold its value.

Hopefully they just deliver before the end of August so you don’t have to mess with it 😆. I was feeling better about those chances last week compared to this week.

I feel you about jumping ship, down to one car is making it tough and once our son starts school it is going to get amplified. I really want to give them until September 7 because that will be 13 weeks and the ever shifting dates have taken its toll, and I feel like if I don’t have by the first week of September it won’t happen until next quarter, aka November essentially, since nothing really happened until the end of July this quarter.

I really hate that about the trade in. They should solely base it on the order date rather than anything else to prevent glitches. If that order falls thru send it to the next person in line or to the existing inventory.
