There wasn't an E-Tron available for us to test drive, except for the GT, which is not really what we're going for. Cool looking car though.
Are you thinking of the Mach-E GT? The E-tron is from Audi and it is a beautiful car and you get all the luxuries of a German car coupled with the service you’d expect from a premium dealer. However, I just couldn’t wrap my brain around having to stop twice to charge to make it from my home to Denver or Salt Lake.

Who know what will happens in three years, but Tesla has not been allowing Model 3 lessees to buyout their 2018 leases.

It’s another business practice that I severely disagree with. It’s dishonest because it allows them to double dip. If they charged too much for the lease payments, the fair thing to do is allow the lessee to pay the remaining amount to own their car. Their “no buyout allowed” scheme is a great way to secure a second round of profit on the same car when reselling it as a used car.
The lessors knew this going in. Doesn’t seem like a bad model. Poor fiscal decision from those lessors but nothing wrong on Tesla doing this. They can likely double dip on FSD too. Smart move on their part.

One major advantage to lessees is that they can essentially purchase a more expensive car than they might typically afford, due to spreading the payments out longer with an end of lease buy-out. I don’t really want to pay on a car for 8 years, but hey, for some people, that may be a way to get the brand new car they love. I also think Tesla should allow that option

Could be referring to the E-Tron GT, which is somewhat confusingly completely unrelated to the E-Tron, except that it’s fully electric.

E-Tron GT is a Taycan dressed up with an Audi interior, infotainment, and exterior. It’s an all around excellent and beautiful car, designed from the ground up as an EV. But not as practical since it’s a sports sedan.

like many others I saw my EDD get pushed out a generic January date. I was holding myself from making a change to my order but saw the dates changing so went ahead and changed the interior to white. My SA told me that it will reflect in my account within an hour but I do not see it. Do you know how .long it typically takes to reflect the changes made to the order?

People also can also know terms and conditions full well before taking out payday loans. It doesn’t change the fact that it’s garbage business practice. Making more money at all costs does not always make it a smart move in the long run.

I love Tesla as a company, but like I’ve said before, every company is made of people. And all people sometimes make poor decisions.

Good morning VINwaiters. I'm one of the recently-labeled "long timers" here with an OD of 5/31. Day 89 for me. I've watched this thread grow to over 1500 pages (!). holy shizzle.

my EDD held for 9 days at 9/6-26. this morning it changed to 9/11-30.

I'm in NY (Mt Kisco delivery) and being at EOQ scares the fark out of me... being here for a long time (over a quarter turn) means I've seen east coast VINs be taken away and given to west coast customers so tesla can boost its delivery numbers for the quarter (the company can only count deliveries for revenue, not built and in transit cars). I'm ready to take my car - charger in place (with it's evil green glow) - and i'm frankly done with buying gas for my ICE car. I always ask myself "is this my last tank of gas?".

No More VINlessness, please!
I have been waiting for my Model X since January. Currently no delivery in sight. I was forced to order a Y just so we would have something to drive as we sold our car in March expecting (from Tesla) to get our X in April. There is plenty of pain to go around with the dream crusher and cruel shoes wearer…. Tesla.

@boingolover I stand corrected. If this was what you were indeed referring to, I apologize for my ignorance.
See, this is why I need you guys. I learn something from this board every day!

Off topic, for just a second. Went back to the showroom and test drove a MYP just to “refresh” my memory on how much quicker it was than the MYLR since we changed our order and I noticed that the MYP have the new projector headlights. I had no idea. The LR does not. Is that something everyone already knew?

Yep. Common knowledge. There is a whole thread about trying to find the MYLR with them.

In hindsight yeah I’m sure many wish they had purchased with how little Tesla’s are depreciating. I am currently leasing my 2019 M3 and did so based off the advice of my accountant. I am self employed and the lease is 100% tax write off (from what I understand)

The no buyout clause is frustrating but I felt Tesla would advance a lot in 3 years and I’d want a new one anyways. You can actually buyout your lease if a 3rd party dealer is purchasing it (not sure why they have this policy). I am currently in the process of doing that & it’s pretty straightforward so far. My buyout is $31k, local dealer offered me $39k for it which I’m taking. So, I pocket the $8k difference, had a 100% lease expense write-off for 2 years, and also was given free supercharging for 2 years as an incentive when I bought. So, I don’t think it ended up being a “poor financial decision”

Putting that $8k into my MYLR (leasing) order and have the same lease payment as M3 I’m getting rid of. However, we are purchasing my wife’s MYLR we have on order as we plan on keeping that long term & I can’t write off two lease payments.

Some had mentioned paying ~$7k for PPF- couldn’t you just repaint the entire car for that amount? (Honest question I have no idea) Of course ppl can do whatever they’d like but personally I’d put that $ in TSLA and let it ride.

Ordered 08/19
Grey/White MYP
EDD 09/04-9/10
VIN 258***
Received the text to schedule delivery this morning and scheduled for 09/10. Looks like I will be very lucky that I will be able to pickup 23 days after ordering.
I can’t understand how some of you have ordered months ago and still not received VINS or delivery dates. Shocking how they push MYP to the front of the line.
Ordered my MYP on 8/15. EDD was 9/1-921. Today changed to the generic 4-5 weeks. Not all MYP's are delivered so quickly. You are fortunate
