Must be great, at least you have a VIN. You can start getting firm quotes for financing and insurance. I'm still left in the dark... I don't want to be a pest and hassle them every day. I've tried to keep my emails to Tesla infrequent. I'll try one more time before the weekend...

Hang in there, folks, it is so worth it !!!

VIN 4044 has a new home since wednesday, and loving it. I really got to driving it for real (if you see what I mean) last night with the dry pavement.

I suddenly felt the need to go to my original bank branch in Boucherville, to deposit a check and come back with 80km more on the counter ... :)
I find the ATM in Ville St-Laurent are often out of paper or something .. :)

I also used this little trip to go test my twin chargers, since apart from the UI which allows amperage to go to 80 amp, there is not much you can do to actually test it at home. I had some doubts because of conflicting bill of item from some paper Tesla sent with the car. Anyway, I called ahead and with some insistence, I managed to use the Sun Country charger at Hotel De Mortagne in Boucherville. Worked great. 30 km in 30 min, at 69 amps, but just 192V.

I wanted to test the charging cause I am having an issue where after 10-15 minutes of charging at 40A on my 14-50 circuit, the car drops the amperage to 10A.
Tesla pulled the log last night and Eli confirmed everything looks ok. So, I suspect the UMC or more probably my 14-50. The electrician is coming back sunday...

If you already have your 14-50 circuit installed and want someone to test it out for 15-20 minutes, I am your man... :) PM me...

agileone,

Congrats on finally getting your car! I'm glad you love it. I can't wait for mine.

If your car worked fine on the J1772, it wouldn't make much sense that it wouldn't work with the 14-50. But it also doesn't make sense that your 14-50 works for a while and then drops. I doubt that can be an electrical problem.

I have a 6-50 installed at my place. I don't know if you ordered an HPWC. If not, you probably didn't get a 6-50, so I can't offer you my plug to try...

I hope you get your charging issue figured out. Keep us posted! And post some pics!

Actually, I only used the J1772 adapter while using the Sun Country charger. I didn't bring the UMC. I wanted to rule out the car chargers as possibly faulty.
Possible culprits remain the UMC and the 14-50 circuit/breaker box.

With the weather we have been having since I picked it up, no sexy pics yet, but I will catch a few of my garage "enhancements", when I have a minute...
I have been busy ...

Well, if you can do 80 KM to deposit a check at the bank, you can do 150 KM to get to Trois-Rivières to show your MS to a futur owner who can't wait to get his car!! :)

And I have a 14-50, so you'll be able to test it. I also have a Sun Country CS-90 ready to charge !!

I only found out about my VIN when I e-mailed Gar yesterday.
I'm curious to know how you guys're getting these various contacts. Tesla completely blew my delivery window, it was Jan. 31-Feb. 14. I'm still awaiting my payment & VIN documents with no answer from Tesla. I've phoned the delivery line who forwarded me on to John Niskanen in Ontario somewhere. I've phoned him twice, most recently this past Thursday & have yet to hear anything back. I was able to get my VIN from the iPhone app: P04251. This doesn't show up in the My Tesla website. I'm a bit irritated that I can't get any response from Tesla at all. My car's an 85 kWh Perf with air suspension.

Gar (Gariné) e-mailed me 2 weeks after my "invitation to configure" e-mail. In my case, Tesla made the first move. She has been very prompt and professional since then. She has referred me to both Jon and Alex - now I have 3 contact names.

At first I was told Jon would be delivering my car in Toronto - it was changed to Alex this past Friday.

I still don't have a VIN, but I don't blame my delivery specialist(s?). What irritates me is that when I placed my reservation, it was at the equivalent time that US production was at about #8000. Those US reservation holders have already received their vehicles in January/February. I'm sure Tesla has a mission to its madness when it comes to batching... And I know Canadian signature reservation holders had to wait a while longer than the US reservation holders too.

I don't mind waiting for the car - from everything I can gather - it's worth the wait on every front. I'd appreciate a little more information about the delivery process.. car registration process.. payment and getting a VIN number within a reasonable timeframe (my bank wont release funds without this). I have no idea how to get ready for my delivery date. I'm almost afraid that I'll receive a call one day saying "your car is here - come pick it up" and being totally unprepared. My car could be here in as little as 11 days from now.

have you emailed him directly? He always gets back to me.

Hi, I'm pretty much in the same situation as you are. My delivery date begins Mar 4, and pretty disappointed in the lack of contact from Tesla. For me their system is as follows: Reserve your car and then get no contact from Tesla until they pretty much have the car at your door, many unanswered emails, many unanswered phone messages (sometimes phone calls just go to answering machines), a few incorrect answers when I could get some (like telling me I can't trade in my Roadster), little to no assistance figuring out how financing will work, little to no assistance for trade-ins (roadster even), little concern that I have been asking for assistance for months.......so all that is disappointing......

I'm sure in the end I will get the car and will have to figure out everything last minute - but this really is not the way to provide service to so many people buying 6 figure cars.

I wasn't given his e-mail address, I only received his cell #.

This is exactly how I feel. It's not the waiting that bothers me, I've been waiting 2 years since making my reservation, it's the complete lack of contact & information about the process compounded by the inevitable banking delays.

So, I got my VIN when I e-mailed Gar last week, and yesterday my iPhone app stopped giving me the "no car" error and now it shows the VIN and says remote access needs to be enabled on the touchscreen.

I went in to the Toronto store yesterday to see if I could get some more info on my trade-in, financing and delivery. They were very nice and friendly, but made it very clear they do not handle any sales or aspects of the sales transactions. I was instructed to e-mail or (preferably) call Palo Alto for anything sales-related. I guess I'll do that tomorrow.

It's not like I'm in a rush for the car, but since I still have some i's to dot and t's to cross, I don't want it to be a last minute rush when they finally call me to say the car is here.

I'm totally with you. I asked three times about trading my Tesla Roadster... Never got any returns. Many many other issues. Probably the worst car buying experience of my life. However, I kind of expected that being the first deliveries in Canada just before year end... Early adopter!

However, I assumed the process was refined by now.

However, I assumed the process was refined by now.

Unfortunately not for me. The worst part is my pre-sale service was bad with the Roadster a few years ago, now pre-sale service for the Model S is even worse......

The good news is once I had my Roadster things were better, so I assume it will get better once I get my car......
Now, the general population not knowing alot about Tesla I would expect to be livid with this level of pre-sale service. I certainly can't recommend family members yet to buy as they wouldn't put up with this nonsense as I am accustomed to with Tesla.

I guess we'll see what happens in Alberta. The reason I took the leap to reserve was that they dropped the per km rate for ranger visits to a flat rate of $100. The per km rate from Vancouver would have been prohibitive. It's in TM's interest to serve more remote regions well, but it has been a leap of faith for me. Looks like a few S's will be coming to Alberta soon. My delivery window is March 4-18 but I haven't heard much lately other than seeing a VIN on the mobile app.
