Delivery NIGHTMARE

Each buyer has different things that matter to them... I don't even notice panel gaps and never have, likely never will... Hell I had to look at the mirror pics like 5 times to figure out what the issue was... :) My front passenger door/trim have never quite lined up like the other 3 doors do which initially caused some wind noise issues but that was fixed and while the alignment still is far from perfect, I have to consciously think about it to notice it... I'm sure there are other panel gap issues and things on my car that I just would never notice and still wouldn't care even if you pointed them out...

My Model S lease is up in 11 months and while I have my own issues with Tesla and am hoping for a better option for my next car, I just don't see one... As such, it's exceptionally likely I'll lease another Model S or get a Model X... I love AP1, and the way the car drives in general and you'll NEVER get me back to an ICE powered car now, NEVER...

Just my two cents...

Jeff

MONDAY UPDATE!! I called the delivery specialist myself today and left a very nice
1f642.png
:) VM and followed up with an email. He called me back and we had a very good conversation. He apologized for the delivery not going as well as it should have. Bottom line is he will make sure we get the car we want whether it be the one we were presented with - that is being worked on as we speak - an inventory model or a new build. He indicated that some of the items have already been fixed but that the major issue is the misalignment of the Trunk. He is uncertain the length of time for that repair. I agreed to give this car another shot provided they address the multiple issues we addressed at delivery. We left this that he will call me later today and let me know if he has an ETA for a finished car for us to see again. We agreed if the car's issues are not resolved we move on to Tesla #2. Let me just say, that being new to Tesla and not knowing how great the product is for so many on this forum, we were very reluctant to jump back in. Because of so many positive accolades and learning more about this product we decided that it is perhaps worth this trouble and move ahead. Not sure the outcome but I will definitely post here as we move forward. Many thanks to all the well wishers and the support from so many here. Yes, there were a few grumpies but that is social media in a nutshell. Thank you.

Glad to hear that things appear to be back on track :). You'll be in your Tesla soon. Thanks for the update.

ADDITIONAL UPDATE!! received a phone call completely out of the blue earlier from my sales guy. He was sooooo apologetic and said he had heard about our issues with the non delivered car and wanted the details. With no embellishment whatsoever I explained the details. He answered all my questions and he assured me that my experience is not the norm. He was sincerely apologetic but I continued to tell him this was not his doing but whoever dropped the ball. Let's just say he is all over this. After he hung up with me he was calling his manager to escalate things. He also informed me that his manager as well as he were going to drive to the delivery location and as he said "put hands on the car". He told me that he wants us in the car that we want and not the car we are being asked to settle for. (loved that). He said if we need to order another new then so be it. I will know more later today on the trunk misalignment which I am being told is the most pressing issue (no pun) at the moment. I felt so much better after getting off the phone with him. Can't thank everyone here enough for reading my posts and providing your discerning responses. THANK YOU.

Thanks for the update and good news. As many have said, Tesla would make things right if given the chance. Hopefully you’ll be in your new Tesla very soon and be on your way to driving the future!

The thing to do here - in all fairness - is to see if there is a car somewhere - which is your exact match - exterior and interior color. There are many inventory 75S's out there right now - and you should be able to find one close.

Tesla should be able to get that car here in 10 days from anywhere - even if they have to eat an enclosed carrier - and present you with a car with before the end of the month so you can get the $7500 credit. . . . and the $450 from Edison. [The Calif rebate is now down to car pool lane sticker or the $$$ which has not been allocated yet - I'd take the sticker good til 12/31/2021]

Tesla might be able to sell that body work challenged vehicle they presented - but the last thing they want to do is refund you $2500. I honestly don't think they have the money. . . .

@allset, just remember - if you order a new car you're likely to lose the $7500 federal tax credit . . . make sure they're aware of that claim. It is a valid issue for you to present management.

I already have a code, but thank you. hahaha
that joke was for @mnm1945 , however, now that you mention it.... I want you to tell them you want the floor mats, one year service and DEMAND that they give buttershrimp a referral for your car because he (and he alone) saved you from another Lexus. :)

Thanks everyone I'm here all night....
