Denied eMMC replacement - what to do?

I talked to Service about this about a week ago wrt my '17 S 75D. I was told that that they had queried my car's diagnostics before calling me and there was no indication of errors to date. He acknowledged that I was entitled to a replacement anyway, but that due to supply line issues for the past year, they were reserving the modules on hand for vehicles that were clearly affected. YMMV, but this made complete sense to me.

In the meantime, I upgraded to MMU2 so it's a moot point for me.

Responding to my own post (sigh) this is interesting... maybe the criteria by which they judge?

I love the reference to “MCU_w031_cidSquashfsError" ... nice to know others in the industry choose such honesty in creating cover-up functions.
This document is pre-recall, as they can't deny the recall to vehicles out of warranty (also the date is from before the recall).

Nonetheless, as @Dwardio says, they might be prioritizing failing vehicles due to the chip shortage.
