Did you get free SuperCharging and Award Credit after upgrading to P3D?

I think the key difference on this item versus the others, is that many others have experienced the same scenario as you and have reported a successful resolution to the free supercharging question (i.e. it'll show up later or that they'll clear the charges once they determine that you qualify for free supercharging which should be evident by your order date and/or referral).

The other items that are more unique to each customer and promised by a DA/sales etc. should definitely be in writing and not be trusted until it has been written down as such in a MVPA or like type contract.

Why haven't you picked up your P3D yet? What was your configuration? I'm still upset that they have my money and my delivery date has been delayed for a whole month with almost zero communication.
Wow, you’ve paid and no car? That is crazy.

I have had 2 VINS, both at Costa Mesa, white P3D, with PUP, and black interior.

Still waiting on something besides a text that my referral will be applied, I’ve asked the advisor who, or how she knows and she said she asked, but can’t tell me who that is?

Yeah they canceled my delivery date after my bank sent them the check (signed MVPA and everything) saying oops, you're car hasn't been built yet....that was August 28th....LA Times actually reported my story.

I too have the 'pay per use' supercharging on my P3D+ delivered on August 15th. I got a nice response from Tesla corporate who stated it may take several months to update the Tesla website to show unlimited Supercharging. Also, the best test is to go to a Supercharger and 'fill er up' and see if it asks you to pay anything. If it doesn't, you have free Supercharging, if it does, give them a call or email and they'll make it right...

I get that, but this should never be happening. I don’t want to be chasing what was promised for months after the purchase. Would they take 95% of the money with my promise of the last 5% when they deliver?

And everyone is owed the spoiler too and badging, which means another trip to a service center, unless mobile teams are doing the installations.

Nope, not necessarily. See this post about how a guy was told by sales that he could trade in two cars by sales, but when the time came, they said no:
Tesla promised to take 2 cars in trade...now 10 days before delivery refuses!

My issue, is a salesperson, or delivery specialist is saying I am getting something, but can't provide one shred of evidence that I am getting it other than her email stating so. What if she stated that I would get a $10,000 discount if I do my ACH transfer right now? Or, what if I get free white seats, etc.

Based on reading on this site, people are not getting it, and its turning into a litany of promise, we'll take care of it. Will they? I don't know.

That is why I asked the original question, if anyone has gotten their free Supercharging, and if they self-referred, did they get credit for it in their loot box.

Do I have to have those things? No, but they offered the deal up, and I was swayed from AWD to P3D. They may be getting an extra $15K from me, because of their offer.

They created a trigger, and I pulled it.

Who knows who said what or what was promised. I never said you will get what is verbal and subject to change and not documented. Did I miss the email confirming the specifics between the two parties because he says it was verbal not written. Classic he said/he said. Also if you have an email promising free SC with your order number on it you will get it for sure. If you don't put things in writing then you are a bit foolish. Tesla is not out to screw people. Anyone that qualified will get it. Document your transactions with a screen shot.

If you are concerned why don't you get it in writing? This makes no sense and seems like a waste of energy asking people. I have all my promises in email.

I know that Tesla is not out to screw with people, but as I said, it's weird that they can't provide anything more than yes we will apply the referral code. And as I have said before, I don't think they would honor a $10K price reduction even if a delivery person put it in writing and with a reservation code.

Regardless, this is now really off track. I did not want it to go down the "something nefarious is going on track."

It's just Tesla, being Tesla. I just hoped that after having one for 3 years that they would have better systems in place by now. It's obvious they don't.

But, when I go to service with a few missing lug nut covers, and offered to buy them, they just hand them to me and thank me for being a customer. They did the same thing with the windshield wiper sprayer. One day I stopped at Buena Park to look at the 3, and causally mentioned to one of the service guys that was out at the SuperCharger that my nozzles were clogged and could I just by new ones. He said, "hold on", and 5 minutes later had installed the new ones for me.

So I have to take the good with the unknown.

I ordered 6/27 AWD.

Changed to P3D- on 8/15.

I’ve been assured by the original show room guy who changed my order and my IDA that I will get free supercharging.

I take delivery on Sunday and will report back what happens.

I am working on it. They, being the advisor, keeps telling me that her texts, serve as an acknowledgment. What kills me, is that I can't get an answer to specific questions.

1. Have you applied my referral code:
Answer: I have submitted it to that department
2. Since I am self referring, will I receive credit for one reward (I want the wall charger).
Answer: Silence

I always try contacting Tesla first, just like any problem I've had with my S. I post here, because often other people who have waited days, and even weeks can either benefit from what I find out, or I can benefit from them. That, to me is the essence of the forum itself. To share between ourselves.

It's like when the initial LR3 came out and everyone, including reviewers, said how punchy it was, in good way, and then about 8 weeks later after a software upgrade people started reporting that the off the line punch was gone, but the 20-50 was still great. There was a lot of back and forth about this ever really happening, and it helped me move from LR3 to AWD. Then when I read that the AWD still didn't have the off the line punch, I switched to the P3D. The free SuperCharging and Reward sealed the deal for me.

That is where I am at, and it's all good with me to wait to get answers.

Here's Tesla's response to my email:

"Any orders placed before 8/1/2018 that were for a Performance Model 3 or are later modified to be for a Performance Model 3 will automatically be updated to reflect unlimited supercharging. Orders placed before 8/1/2018 are not eligible to have a referral code added, but will still get the unlimited supercharging benefit."

I was hoping to get a wall charger by using my own referral code, but I can't seem to done. At least I have the free supercharging in writing.

Yes you do.

Thanks for providing that update. My situation is even more tricky though. I ordered 6/30, but changed to a P on 8/10. So do I get the referral credit or am I on the 6/30 order date? The drawback of the 8/1 referral date though is that you lose premium connectivity and I'd much rather have that than a HPWC since I already have a J1772 EVSE.

I placed my order on 9/16, and decided to go with AWD instead of P3. I did have a referral code present when I visited the page. I haven’t been contacted by a delivery person at all yet and still have the edit link. I’m curious whether changing to P3- with the edit link would get me free supercharging or not (since order date was 9/16, and referral code should be present). Anyone know?

I'm not sure why it's so hard for them to get the free supercharging figured out. I ordered my P3D- in mid-August using my own referral link (I had an Model S on lease when I did the order). During the order process it said I was getting the free supercharging. However, I noticed that it never showed up in the vehicle detail description or on my account for the Model 3. My self-referral did show up on my referral page though so it's clear that I ordered with the referral.

I emailed the IDA and local delivery manager a couple of weeks ago about it and they sent some emails to corporate to get it straightened out (cc'ing me). I picked up the car today, and it still wasn't showing up in the account. They told me on pickup that I was set for free supercharging, but just in case I had them write it down on the Due Bill.

I stopped and supercharged on the way home, and it's indicating that it is charging me. I don't want to hassle with chasing reimbursements so I've removed my credit card from the account so we'll see what happens. It really shouldn't be that difficult to get this fixed for everyone.
