I have lots of preparedness adapters and cables and such, but they stay in my garage. There's no need for keeping that in the car all the time for daily around town use. The "you never know" and "just in case" stuff is people being overly paranoid. Do realize that the UMC is only used for plugging into outlets. Superchargers, J1772 stations, and destination Tesla wall connectors don't even use the UMC, so it's rare that you could just unexpectedly "find yourself" outside of civilization having to rely on an outlet. If you're planning a trip, and going to somewhere you're not familiar with and aren't sure of what you might need to charge when you're there, then sure, pack it up. I just went to Seattle this weekend and wasn't sure what I would be using for charging either at the AirBNB house I was staying at, or at a local charging station. So I brought the UMC, but didn't end up using it.
