Does Tesla really void the defroster warranty with rear window tint ?

Tesla just told me today that my rear defroster is not covered under warranty. I’ve had the car a week now and just discovered the rear defroster doesn’t work and they want $700 to fix it.

Is this a brand new car? You've not tinted it yet or modified anything on the back glass? That defroster should absolutely be covered by warranty.

Hey @DocHolliday after a little bit of pushing and linking to references in this exact message board they agreed that the car should be covered under warranty and I took it in earlier today. They had it for the day, returned it and said it is now fixed (I’m hoping it is and I will check it in the morning).
