Amazing what passed for journalism these days.
Yes, investigative journalism is dead. All these guys and gals do is scour the Internet and take it as verbatim truth.

Or multiple outlets, in this case the National Post, CBC and CTV, post a newswire story to their web sites. A waste of storage space since it is the same article in three places.Yes, investigative journalism is dead. All these guys and gals do is scour the Internet and take it as verbatim truth.
Why 20 of them? Seems such a waste. The location is not ideal either. Not many owners would have a need to go there. in my opinion, a shopping mall would have been better but then again, ICING could be an issue. There was this new charging location found last night in Scarborough at Toronto Pan Am Sport Centre Toronto Pan Am Sport Centre | Toronto, ON | Electric Car Charging Station | PlugShare with 20 Tesla HPWCs and 10 J1772s. I wouldn't be surprised at finding a Supercharger here.

I'd rather go to the gym than go to the mall. I can go to the gym any day of the week; the same doesn't apply to the mall. Groceries are a different story. Why 20 of them? Seems such a waste. especially when there's a 20 station tesla supercharger about to be built in Scarborough...Why 20 of them? Seems such a waste. The location is not ideal either. We realize.. but are they HPWCs set up to load share.. that would be the smart thing to do. Pretty wasteful to have a dedicated 100A circuit breaker for each HPWC given the vast majority of post-refresh vehicles are equipped to do 48A.The HPWC speed goes at 80 Amps while the J1772s go at 32 Amps

I don't see any dedicated disconnects connected to these either.Do these HPWC's go to 80 amps? I find it very rare to find any that are set up for 80 amps... 40 amps tops is what I usually see.
Now that you mention it - I don't know that I remember seeing this at other public HPWCs that I have charged at - like at hotels. Does the electrical code say that every charger has to have a dedicated disconnect? Or are they chargers above a certain power or amperage capacity?I don't see any dedicated disconnects connected to these either.
Yes and it varies by jurisdiction. I believe on PEI anything over a 60A breaker requires a disconnect within X feet, but in Ontario it's anything over 50A.. honestly I can't remember the details. Enforcement of this rule seems pretty inconsistent too. I wish they'd do away with it entirely unless there was some evidence it is actually needed. We need to drive down the cost of all forms of charging.Or are they chargers above a certain power or amperage capacity?
