Electric car chargers vandalised

THREE electric car chargers have been vandalised in Oxford.

Can't quite get my head around someone having payed £40K+ on an EV trying to save a few quid by damaging a public car charger. But hey there's lots of things I don't get!

I guess he tried to open it up to try and bypass the payment system and connect wires directly or something? Christ knows.

The entitlement is ridiculous though.

It's possible in theory (you'd have to load nobbled software, since without the CCS protocol the charger isn't doing anything) but you're more likely to get the shock of your life..

look at it this way. they had a plan and a goal and having failed will probably not bother trying again. So in my twisted book that is still better than the sort of mindless vandalism where someone just smashes stuff up on the way home from the pub for the "fun" of it and will probably do it again next week.
Not exactly a silver lining but hey.

Its a tangent, but as a Tesco shopper i'd be more inclined to vandalise the ICE cars that keep parking in the bloody charging bays!!!!!

Went shopping again yesterday, 4 spaces, 3 ICED. So frustrating.

You'd be parking on the actual road part of the car park, blocking all traffic, if you attempted that.

Yeah, not to mention it just encourages people to vandalise your vehicle because you have dared block them in and inconvenienced them....
