Anyone have experience purchasing via existing inventory? Are these just cars that have been rejected by someone else?

"Inventory" means it has not been registered to anyone else.

Thar could mean many things:

Brand new untouched cars that are pre-made waiting for a matched order.

Rejected or orphan cars that could be perfect or broken.

Demo cars displayed in stores

Loaner cars for people to drive...

They can be any of the things @Tam mentioned above. At this time of year, Tesla blasts out as many copies as they can and sends them out across the country. Most of them are just like any other new car rolling off the line, never matched to someone or potentially matched to someone that cancelled or delayed based on tax credit hysteria.
