That is probably true. When I bought my car - they hadn’t yet figured out the warranty or maintenance plans. I likely would have bought it at time of purchase if it were available given all the early reliability concerns. Having said that - there is no reason to buy it early either - unless you know for sure you plan to keep the car. Why not hang on to the cash as long as possible.
