Picked up my 60kW today at the factory! Fantastic! With the factory tour and review of car it took a little over two hours.

In talking with the delivery team, they started delivering 60kW models yesterday, so I'm not the first. I forgot to ask if they were delivered models or factory pickups, so some/all of those yesterday may be on trucks to the owners. I'm guessing they are have 8-10 factory pickups a day of all versions (maybe more on the weekend). The factory is running 7 days a week, so they are really cranking them out.

How about the power!?

First person on the forums after all this time to actually be in control of a 60kwh ... and your entire post is about delivery times?!!?! Impressions please ... acceleration, handling etc.

Good News: Car is complete and ready for pickup.
Bad News: No delivery spots available until Monday 11am.

Apparently the factory is having their much deserved company party this Saturday, so there wont be many deliveries. Those guys have been working around the clock and I am glad to hear they get to let loose for an evening. Sunday is cleanup day, so also not many deliveries taking place this day . I have to say, I have never been more excited for a Monday in all my life.
....now the Real waiting begins:eek:

Sorry about that. I thought delivery is what everyone wants right now!

Power is strong, but not quite nice as the performance S. It starts off the line and continues strong. Feels like better acceleration than my 390hp Lexus. Handling is also great - feels really well planted. I'll give it a real run tomorrow and fully put it through it's paces. Very satisfied.

Grey, Grey interior, 10kW charger, Supercharger support, 19" wheels, tech package, air suspension.

It has 4.1 software, as I was hoping for the 4.2 release, but they only started rolling 4.2 out a few days ago - so I expect all immediate deliveries will also be 4.1. I'll try and add an update late tomorrow after a bit more time with it.

Congrats, vcor! Yeah, I'm confused by the two pics too...

Btw, hasn't this thread outlived its existence?

Let's have the VIN reports and delivery windows/dates here:
Model S Delivery Dates and Sequencing

And the actual delivery experiences here?
Model S Delivery Update

Those stickies have been commandeered by the 85 packers till now; it's time we 60s spoke up over there :)

What time are you picking up your car tomorrow? More importantly, what time will you be uploading pics and impressions?

What is the grey one is that yours too ?

Yep, I'm in the car with the delivery specialist - although hard to see. For factory pickup, they have a very nice indoor area where you can look over the car and get the operational rundown. It's very well lighted (and heated) so you can really look over the car. They have three bays, so they appear to be delivering in groups of 3 when there is enough demand. I gather most owners are having the cars delivered.

I guess I should know this, but what are the efficiency ratings for the 85/60 kW cars? I gathered the same number of batteries are used in the 85 and 60 kW models, but a different battery type is used for the 85 kW that stores more energy per pound (and is more costly). I never got a clear answer if the inverters are different between the models, but I suspect they may be. The performance model clearly has a different inverter from all others.

Is it possible the sticker on the door is incorrect, that they just kept using the stickers from the 85 kWh cars? It's very difficult to understand a higher efficiency rating with the car the same weight. Any other ideas?

The Weight stickers are printed per car (it has the VIN on it) as well as the date 1/13. Of course it could be no one updated the info, but I doubt that. I'd always heard the weight for 85/65kW were going to be about the same.

Could the 2013 numbers be different than 2012 (i.e. EPA tweaks on the process?). Has anyone seen the MPGe rating for the 85 kW on a 2013 model?

-- Update --

Looked up the numbers on the government's site at http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/bymake/Tesla2013.shtml and they are different. No idea why. Perhaps the somewhat stronger acceleration on the 85kW consumes more power faster and hurts it's ratings. A nice tiny benefit for us 60kW owners. If this holds, the 40 kW should get an even better rating as it should be lighter as well.
