They’re trying to move inventory because Ravens will be delivered soon. They probably think this is an easy way to sell more inventory without dropping the price much more, netting them more profit overall since free supercharging for most really won’t cost as much to Tesla compared to a $10k price drop.
Also curious if it’s tied to the car forever or if it’s just for the first owner.

The quote above mentions "lifetime of ownership", so it sounds like its tied to the owner not the car.
The recently updated Model S/X with the permenant magnet front motor as well as the updated suspension.
I placed an order for an inventory vehicle on 5/17. I just emailed my Delivery Support Specialist and asked them to add the unlimited supercharging to my account since I have yet to take delivery of my vehicle. I hope they do the right thing and give me the free supercharging. My delivery date is 5/31

Yes... the end of the quarter is on the horizon. They need the sales and pushing out inventory will help.

So that kinda makes using a referral code (5000 miles of supercharging) irrelevant for inventory MS/MX buyers.

It will never cease to amaze me what that one word does to the masses. Free SuperCharging means -0- to me and probably for the greatest majority of us Tesla owners (a few do take it for all its worth) but when they read it...BAM instant sale

It does have a nice psychological feel to it, knowing you can charge the car and not worry about whether your card info is on file or if it’s been updated

The few people that will use the free supercharging to its maximum potential will be offset by the many who don’t. Which is why this is such a great promotional offer for tesla. Although only for the S/X.
True and for the 8 months or so that ”refreshed” S had “lifetime of the car” Supercharging, those cars supposedly resell fast. My 12/16 S fits that profile so someday I may benefit but that day figures to be many years away.
Supercharging is no big deal to me either as almost all of my charging is in my garage but realize lots of garage-challenged people need it daily and the urban Supercharging network continues to rapidly expand to meet that need.
