Front number plate change??

I have just gone to put my private plates on the car. The back slides in from the side but how on earth do you get the front plate in anyone know? I've searched without success

I just popped mine out, then removed the stupid clip in plate thing all together.

I tried myself and, not being particularly DIY inclined, messed up. Went to my dealership (Birmingham, Digbeth) and they replaced the part I'd broken and fitted the plates while I had a coffee and biscuits - all for free!

Maybe I was lucky, but always had good responses from them

+1 for Digbeth - they always seem to go out of their way to accommodate me and / or any stupid requests I have

I just popped mine out, then removed the stupid clip in plate thing all together.

I also find the clumsy black number plate holder ugly and un-necessary. I have a pre-facelift MS90D and I had the nose cone wrapped in body colour, please an adhesive [legal] stick on reflective plate. Much more elegant IMHO.

Has anyone got any more information on this? About to have a go at mine and I KNOW I'm gonna get impatient and break it if I'm not careful...
