FSD Transfer

Does anyone know if Tesla is currently allowing transfer of FSD? I have a 2020 MYLR and purchased FSD. We’re considering buying a new MY for me but keeping our old one for my wife to drive. She never uses cruise control much less FSD so FSD would be wasted on her car. (Our longer term plan is to trade in or sell the 2020 MY and keep the new one so leaving FSD on the old MY wouldn’t work.)

As far as I know, the last FSD Transfer promotion ended on March 31. If you’re not in a hurry, you could wait and see if Tesla offers it again, maybe even this month since it’s the end of Q2.

Thanks - we’re not in a hurry so I probably will. Sales are down so I wouldn’t be surprised if they do offer it again.

I would wait a bit. The transfer from our 2020 MY was smooth and simple. End of quarter might be a chance.

I know this was a joke, but just to clarify, a sales rep can’t transfer FSD for you…either on accident or on purpose…if there is no current corporate promotion running to transfer FSD.

I think the comment in the article sums it up: “Until FSD is able to follow through on its promise, transfers should be free for anyone who has bought the software.”

I have to wonder if the referenced lawsuits will end up having the effect of allowing transfer until the software is functionally complete? Either way, for my purposes it looks like I’ll be able to transfer in the near future.

I paid $2k to upgrade EAP to FSD for the possibility of FSD transfer on my 2013 M3. I am ready!

I've discovered Tesla cars that include the FSD in their pricing. If you're considering purchasing a new car, it might be worth visiting ev-cpo.com to see if they offer FSD. This is FYI for you or anyone who isn't aware.

Has anyone learned anything more about this latest FSD transfer offer? Has it progressed beyond Elon’s off-the-cuff response? Any clarification on “one more quarter” being until end of June or end of September?

FSD should be assigned to a person. Any FSD capable car (owned, borrowed, rented) that the driver drives, should be able to engage FSD.
