FWIW, this morning I drove from Maarheeze to Schiphol, starting at 6:30 and arriving at 8:00am, total 158km. I arranged for my MS to complete a range charge just after 6am, mostly to make sure that the battery was nice and warm. I also preheated the cabin before departure and set range mode on. Cabin temp set to 19C, seat heating on 1. No passengers.
During the drive I "made normal progress", 120kph where allowed and possible in the traffic, 100kph for the rest. Average speed 105kph beginning to end. Average power consumption 198Wh/km. Something like 230km typical range over on arrival at Schiphol, but don't hold me to that, I only noted the power consumption. Road conditions were dry, temp 8C. Don't know what the wind was - it wasn't particularly noticeable.
Pure enjoyment was set to maximum. I don't need to be racing around at 150kph, except for short sprints for fun. In normal NL traffic, driving normally, range has yet to be a problem. Driving like this I have achieved well over 300km on a single charge without braking into a sweat.
Without the battery preheat and the range charge, and then driving at 120-130kph, I can imagine that people are only seeing 250km at this time of the year. One has to respect and manage the characteristics of the MS and then it's just fine IMO.
