When writing technical posts on this forum, I constant run into stupid filters that block the content and/or semi-ban your IP... please remove them.

As an example: you can't type an IP address in a post or message. so I can't write "the IP of the Tesla CID is 192.168.90.100."

Without the period after the 100... it is infuriating. Please fix it.

What else is in your posts besides IP addresses? Multiple things must be triggering it. Also, all those filters are from Cloudflare, it might be hard to disable the specific WAF rules that trigger those blocks.

Are you posting from your workplace? If so, stuff like that might be filtered out on your end.

Yes, does appear to be a bit more nuanced... and yes, is incredibly annoying. Here’s an example:

    echo 10.1.2.3 1234

(Replace echo above with “nc” and try to post...)

No, it’s definitely the forum’s crappy filtering software:

Perhaps just need to do some tuning of parameters and/or reducing sensitivity... if you must keep the filters, maybe challenge instead of block?

How do I configure the WAF?

Sorry for venting, is just incredibly frustrating not being able to post things that are helpful to people... especially after taking lots of time to write things up!

I’m sure cloudflare’s product is fine... it just likely needs to be properly tuned/configured for this site

With that netcat command, Cloudflare probably thinks you're trying to do an SQL injection. We're constantly hit with bots trying to do stuff like that, so I'm not really wanting to relax those rules. If you use the Contact Us link below the next time you have a problem, we can work around it.
