Has anyone tried putting a used radar module in a "vision" MY or M3?

If you look on ebay (and similar), it is easy to find used OEM M3/MY radar modules. Wondering if anyone has tried installing one in their "vision only" M3/MY and if the AP software picks it up and starts using it. I have an MY with radar so I can't test...although I guess I could pull my radar module out and see what happens.

Looks like a few folks already tried this... Is it possible to install a radar sensor myself on a "no radar" Model Y/3

There's at least one person in these forums who did and successfully reconfigured their car to use it.

I'm not aware of anyone publishing a how-to guide for reconfiguring such aspects of the car. Nobody wants Tesla to feel a need to try blocking such things.

Yeah makes sense...looks like you need root access to do it.
