@gmtom1, Great. Welcome to the owners club. Even if you have to wait a little. Well worth it.

Hmmm, makes me wonder. Does gm in gmtom1 stand for General Motors? And xxtom1 is now converted. Will xxtom1 be renaming his forum handle to mstom1 soon? (Sorry, just having a little fun. No offense intended.)

Signature Model S loaner car

Diamond225th- That's quite a loaner car to receive. Someone's prediction came true! Glad to see Barry and co treating you well.

Akikiki- I just ordered my Show n Go license frame from Amazon. I'm sold.

All- I talked with my DS Mac today and he asked his superiors about leaving the remote access on during shipment to Hawaii. Mac received a "no" answer to the question because of concerns about battery depletion during the long journey. Anyway, we have our answer.

Diamond225th, That great service and such a long list. Those guys are great. We are so fortunate. How did you like the performance of the P85?

Papafox, Kool. I think you will be satisfied. Try to get a plate holder while you are aligning it. I need to tweak mine a little now that I look at it. It will be easy now that the back bolt/nut is already there. If you have a high curb or driveway, take it easy driving over it. This reduces the distance between car and road by about an inch, making this about the lowest point under your car.

When I am the first one to the office parking lot, I fold it down. Its funny how many people walking by and can see it, notice "that car has no front plate ! "
Fun to watch them. One or two figure it out.

notice no front plate on the loaner sig :)

nanimac, Good catch on the no front plate. Wow, doesn't it look slicker-cleaner without a plate than with one?

@ddruz, Okay you've had your car a couple of weeks now. Time for new owner report, buddy. Can you give us some details or impressions please?

Looks like our current DS, Mac, is not as responsive as the DS that DSmith had. Either that or he has less access to information. The only information he can provide is that the car will be shipped as soon as possible, and transit will take about 3 weeks from when the car is complete, and that the next contact we will have is when the car is at the SC. He does not have info as to what ship it would be on or even whether or not it was actually shipped.

I was about to call Mac to see if my loan check and down payment was processed (arrived at Tesla Monday) when my husband told me that my registration and title docs came in via FedEx. Yay! Am supposed to sign and return the Statement of Delivery Outside California..am going to send back tomorrow but curious if anyone knows if they need this doc back before they can ship the car?

Not sure - can't quite remember the sequence of events. I *think* that they had already shipped before we got the title docs but don't hold me to that, lol

I don't know for sure but I suspect that payment must be made and paperwork done before they ship. Didn't take any chances and Fed Ex'd it out the next day. After that was received, Mac said that my car was "marked for transit".

Nanimac, Mac told me yesterday that with payment received the car was ready to ship. He indicated that no other actions on my part were necessary to get the car heading to the docks in Oakland for shipment. This makes sense since Tesla doesn't know for sure that we'll pay, but they do know that if we pay we will sign the paperwork if it is required before the car can be picked up. My car is set to be finished on Friday of this week and heads to Oakland next week. I have not received my paperwork yet from Tesla.

Thanks papafox! Guess I'll give Mac a call tomorrow to check. Hopefully my car is already at the docks :)

I did not have any DS... I had a PS (Product Specialist) and even then I got passed through a few other people that were "Just filling in" when they were overloaded.
