Help Me Build a Crowdfunded Model S!

Not sure if anything like this has been attempted\done before, but I started a GoFundMe account to "crowd-fund\build" a Tesla Model S. I know it's a crazy idea (and if it's not your cup of tea, no worries), but I thought it would be cool to have a Model S built completely from donations and input from the community. I have a variety of Goals that allow you to pick the color, battery size, and even name it.

I'd appreciate you giving it a look and sharing it (if you want, free country and all assuming your from the US). If no one steps up for the big goals, I'll actually come back to the forum and create a survey for color, battery size, options, etc.

Thanks!

I thought you actually meant "build".

A crowd-funding campaign where you build a Model S literally from scratch - every single part, and then document on YouTube every step you do, every part you acquire, every software modification you make does actually have a chance of going somewhere.

But you probably need to be either WK057 or Ingineer to have enough cred to pull that one off.

Hey, at least the OP is honest.

It's pretty sickening how many gofundme's are really trying to pull one over people. Like how a person got injured and they're out of work so they can't do X which they'd absolutely love to do. But, then you realize they were injured years ago and the injury has nothing to do with them being out of work.

My recommendation to the OP is to delete the current one. Then rethink how he could contribute to society in a meaningful way. In a way that would be pay back society for giving him a Model S.

Like maybe a rescue dog type thing where he constantly volunteered to drive animals to clinics/etc.
Or promising to drive senior citizens for X number of hours a week.

There is a lot of good that a person with time on their hands could do with a Model S and cheap/free electricity.
