And do people get staggered with 275 rear or stick with 245 rear on the 20" Tsportline? I don't want to get even less range than stock 21s.

You can do either. They have a square setup or staggered with 20”. Either 20x9 all around or 20x10 for rear. They also have a 19” set. 19x8.5 so stock tires would work. The 19” t sportline are much lighter than stock and 20” are about they same so I wouldn’t think range would take a hit.

Thanks for the reply. Is it the weight of the wheels, or the width of the tires that has the most impact on range (assuming tire tread pattern is the same). So if wheel weight is similar, is staggered setup less efficient than square?

I don’t think going from 245 to 275 will have a noticeable impact. 30mm of width isn’t that much of a difference.

Wheel/tire weight, wheel design, and tire compound all have a much larger impact.

THIS!

They’re what I have on my P100DL and I LOVE them

Agreed!

I, too, was debating gloss black or matte black and opted for the gloss black. They just went on a few days and I LOVE the way they look.

They are actually a darker gun metal...here in better lighting:

have to disagree.
larger contact patch=more friction=less efficient. I've seen threads stating that going to larger aftermarket wheels (lighter than stock) resulted in a 10-15% decline in range....

P100D without 21’s?!

if your roads look like this..

DONT DO IT...

My personal opinion...
If you live in a place where they have 0 trucks, your roads are obsessively maintained by the city to the point of almost being OCD, does not even have a lot of a traffic so the odds of you hitting that pothole are close to 0, sure go 21's.

If you live in a typical metro, where pothole hells are a common sight, or you commute a lot to a metro where pothole hells exist, then go 19's with 45 tires.

Trust me, you will lose your sanity if you dont heed my advice.

I for one also have to say, i have 21's, but this will probably be my last summer on 21's.
I am going to move down to 19's because i have exhausted all whats left of my sanity in Los Angeles' roads and having to replace my tires 3 times before hitting 6k miles @ 430-470 dollars each (1front 2rears) due to sidewall damage... u cant avoid it on 35 thick ties.
And this is going @ 30mph and not seeing a puddle which turned out to be potholes.

I had 21” wheels on my first 2 MS’ and 1/2 way through on my 2nd when Tesla offered the 19” sonic carbon slipstreams, which are quite close to the 21” wheels in appearance, I UPGRADED. Never again will I have 21” wheels on my Model S’. Picking up my latest Raven S LR P+L on Sunday and got the 19” Sonic Carbons no questions asked. I hated the 21’s and didn’t realize how much until I swapped over

I'm getting the Sonic Carbon 19" Slipstreams on my Raven Model S, but also picked up a set of brand new Arachnids on Craigslist for less than the 21" Twin Turbines. I plan to swap to the 19" Slipstreams when the rainy season kicks in.

Tire damage with the 21" wheels is definitely a thing. I replaced all of my tires before I hit 7000 miles in my current Model S due to pothole damage.

The 19s will also give you better range. Getting rid of the 21" wheels was a great upgrade for us.
