High Amperage Charger option now included in 100D/P100D?

I just texted my sales contact at Tesla about this. My 100D X went into production April 14th so I'm hoping for upgraded charging capabilities as my other X I bought w 72a charging and our new X for wife we did not select that option as we wanted to see how it went w/o and we're going to add later if need b.

Honestly, I have never really needed the quick charge but it would be nice to have if I were ever in a pinch.

Very odd that there seem to be different outcomes for people here. Hoping they upgrade mine as well. Mine just entered production today according to the e-mail, but the website said it went into production a few days ago.

I heard back from my DS. He says mine is too far along in parts order/pre-production. We aren't going to get this option...
This doesn't seem to make any sense if they allow Lbkmxp100d to add it for free, when his car has already been in production for several days versus one that hasn't even entered production. I am checking to see what they will do for mine, which has already entered into production as well. I'm doubtful but hopeful.

which charging system are you referencing - AC or DC.
.
...because it's a TMC Urban Legend that AC Charging (onboard charger) is a software upgrade. It used to be we could say standard was 48 Amps and optional was 72, but we can't anymore with the 'standard for the 100s now being 72 Amps'.

The 'legend' part was that because the ordering webpage had it as a 'you can get this after you get the car for $x more', people thought it was software, like EAP and FSD. That was confirmed by part numbers and someone that watched the upgrade, that it wasn't so. The chargers are replaced when you go from 48 to 72.

Wonder when the cutoff for 100Ds to all be made with high amp charger is. Hopefully April 1, which was when the matte black seatbacks started being included?

I assume it can't be that hard to replace if they were willing to change it out as a post-delivery upgrade though.

Yes, this may be complete b.s. from my DS...maybe they just don't want to do it.

I emailed my "real" delivery specialist, and he has confirmed that my X is not yet in production, and they will add the high amp charger to it. I guess you have to talk to the right person...

In any case, at least my experience is now consistent with others.

Now I just need to wait for delivery...I'm probably at least 1 month out.

When I placed my order in March, I included the High Amperage Charger Upgrade because I live in Atlantic Canada and there are no Superchargers and limited charging infrastructure for long road trips.

On April 19th, I contacted my DS to inquire if Tesla would adjust my order to include the High Amperage Charger as per the new on-line configuration. I figured the worst case, they would say no as indicated in my purchase agreement.

Also, my DS had informed me earlier that week that my Model X would not start production until May 12th best case scenario - I figured I had a window prior to the start of production.

On Friday April 22, my DS contacted me to let me know that they would make this change but it would cost $500 and if I committed before the April 25 price increase I would be better off by $1,600. I jumped on this offer.

When I finally reached my DS to provide him with my credit card details, he informed me it looks like they will make the change without the $500 requirement. He informed me that myTesla may not reflect this change for up to 14 days.

As of today, my specification has not been updated to reflect this change - I have my fingers crossed.

What upgrade? As of several months ago, all new S and X’s have 48 and there is no upgrade. Where are you seeing an upgrade? Lots of old threads here but that’s not current info unless there’s been yet another change. :D

And yes that’s a pain for a 100 pack car if you need to charge it quickly but I think the thinking was that use cases were far between as you would need an 80 Amp HPWC on the road which there are some of but not many. (100 amp or 90 amp circuit)
