Highest production VIN in the wild

If they manage 2,500 in a week, it is not a burst, it is a weekly rate. (Unless they only spend 3 days manufacturing, then that is a 5k line in burst mode)
They will stop the line and accumulate the battery packs (if that's the bottleneck) and run the line when they have enough parts to build 2500 in 7 days. That's what Tesla did last quarter.

Picked up 70xx today. Just wanted to note that it has a 3/18 build date on the door jamb sticker. That adds a bit of evidence that VINs are not manufactured in sequence, since it's unlikely Tesla manufactured 7000-13000 (and climbing) during March.

Well (puts optimist hat on) 7,000 + 2,500*3 = 14,500
2k a week would work too...

And yet, still don't see/heard of 14xxx and 15xxx vins :(
Usually the registered VINs won't show up in assignment for 2+ weeks.

In the 11348 - 12436 batch, registered on 3/2, 1st one potentially (113xx) was assigned on 3/19, there was also a 116xx assigned on 3/20, so a 2.5 wk lead time.

The next batch from 12436 to 13823 was registered on 3/10, 1st assigned was 127xx on 3/21, a 11 day lead time, this has been the quickest, 1st time under 2 weeks.

14000s were just registered on 3/19, I think with some luck you'll see them early next week.

You're right, unless there was a production rate increase (similar to nhtsa vin assignment rate increase).
