If the safety infrared beam is working risk should be nil. I wouldn't activate "auto close" feature though until I knew everything was working as advertised.I am the fence for installing homelink. Like the interface but have heard horror stories of garage door coming down on the car etc
Exactly! I love the Homelink feature. I don't use the "auto-close" feature because I usually have something I need to remove from the trunk and I don't want the door to come down. Also, it's one less thing to worry about when coming and going. "Did I close the garage??" It's well worth the $300 IMO. Sometimes you can find the module cheaper on eBay or here on the forum. If the safety infrared beam is working risk should be nil. Why would Homelink be responsible for that kind of action? Same thing would occur with regular remote.I am the fence for installing homelink. Like the interface but have heard horror stories of garage door coming down on the car etc
My iPhone app doesn't seem to have this feature - where is it?Another positive for the Homelink is that once it is installed you can open the garage door from the Tesla app on your phone. This is much nicer than the exterior code type of door opener that I was using before.
Here's you a $5 (well, more like $10 from Amazon) device to make your GDO open from anywhere on earth.
And its Alexa and Google Assistant compatible. Works great.
(Don't for get to turn on inching. You will understand later.
If your GDO is not compatible because of the wrong learrning button, simply wire a spare GDO remote to it. Adds a little to the cost, but works great that way too.

Hmm in Android it's under controls - not summon. It used to be under summon, but they moved it out.It is only available if you have summon afaict. Go to summon tab if you have that enabled
