Hourly car insurance, e.g. Cuvva or Veygo

Has anyone tried lending their mate their Tesla and used one of the hourly car insurance providers, e.g. Cuvva, or Veygo (from Admiral)?

Basically my friend tried a bunch of these on my TM3 LR over the weekend and all of them refused to quote / rejected. Not sure if previous threads have recently covered this.

Yep, that's the response a few of the companies gave, otherwise it was just "No, can't offer you a quote right now.".

Purely out of interest, My 28 year old nephew tried Cuvva for my Tesla and they refused to quote. He’s used them quite a bit so is a known risk. Suspect the car value / power makes it not worth their while to take the risk at any price.

Have you tried to add your friend to your current policy?

I've done that a few times and it's reasonably priced. You can do it for a fixed period, e.g a week but ask how much it would be until the end of the term as there's often little in it.

With the exception of the SR+ all Teslas are group 50D so no chance of adhoc insurance. SR+ is 48D so might as well be.

Have you tried to add your friend to your current policy?

Will try this next (I'm with Direct Line). Probably worth it if I'm going on a week-long holiday somewhere, but not for sharing the load on an ad hoc trip.
