    September 2017 = 19
    Model S = 11 - YTD = 96
    Model X = 8 - YTD = 84

    YTD 2017 = 180
    Total 2016 = 24
    Total 2015 = 21

I get the stats from the two websites: mia.org.nz and evtalk.co.nz
Close race between the S and X

I see the Ministry of Transport have just released the BEV stats for sales for Oct 2017. I’ll let you do the honours Miggy.

What I’ve tried to do here though is a summary of year on year sales, including the Transport data on used car imports. It’s pretty impressive how open and useable access is to this data Monthly electric and hybrid light vehicle tables | Ministry of Transport

I guessed at 6 for 2014 based off this thread.

    Does this look about right?

Ionic 83 in Oct! Wonder when it will come to Aus?

No leaf? I guess sales stopped last year. When is the new one coming?

Any idea of total active vehicles?

Take a look at www.evtalk.co.nz for information on the New Zealand Ev market.
For their October e-magazine see this link: http://ebooks.edocumentonline.com/autotalk/evtalk_oct17.pdf
Total EV fleet is at 5,300
Nissan does not sell the LEAF in NZ but other dealers import near new or ex demo ones in large numbers.

Wow 5341 EV’s in NZ. 226 used leafs imported in Oct17 alone! If AU was serious about EV’s they would allow second hand imports of EV’s now that we are not protecting local manufacturing. With the new leaf in Japan I am sure there will be plenty of second hand ones for export.

A big month in November then. Looks like we’ll easily hit 300 Tesla’s in NZ this year

I love these stat updates. In Australia we are constantly hearing from haters that there are no EV cars or that sales are stagnant. It would be great to have similar accurate stats for Australia wide (we have some for some states) so that we could present the facts.

    Within 24 hours of arrival in Auckland we saw 5 Tesla! 3 x S, 2 x X.
