How to get music controls back?

I occasionally accidentally swipe down on the area where the new music controls live and every time I do I CAN NOT make them come back without a force reboot of the OS.

There’s got to be a better way! Help??

On the bottom bar, hit the telephone receiver icon.

Telephone receiver? It’s a note, pictured in the OP’s photo.

Telephone receiver did not work but the music note did. Not sure how I didn’t see that before. Facepalm…

I just assumed that @Tronguy ment that note looking icon (perhaps it looked like a telephone receiver to them?).

Dont feel bad OP this tripped me up when this version of the UI went live too.

All I remember is that it was (a) green and (b) on the bottom taskbar. And drove me nuts for a day until I hit it by accident.

The first time we 'lost' these cards, we tried everything with no luck, then got a phone call and the cards came back!

The next time we 'lost' them by accident, I just called my husband's phone and the cards came back!

Thankfully, I read a thread like this before losing the cards while alone in the car and unable to call myself!

Thanks for the question and solution on this. It happened to me and I hadn't researched the answer yet. I really don't like the UI changes. It's already a PITA using the entertainment system w/o physical buttons. Changing it every year just adds fuel to the fire.

This vanishing cards trick got most everybody, including me. After a few days, only a visit to the NotATeslaApp site solved the mystery for me, back when the update was fresh.

I have a Model 3 loaner and this got me too. Took me a little while to figure it out.
Just for clarification to get the card back you press this icon circled in blue.

AKA: The Media App icon in the App Launcher.

That icon only appears if the media player isn’t visible, unlike the dedicated media app icons for streaming, Apple Music, etc.
