How to get Summon to stay straight

I park horizontally alongside my garage because my X is too big to fit inside. I leave about an 18 inch gap between the garage door and the side of my X. The other side of the car is an alleyway. I use Summon to back up the X so I can drive my other car out of the garage. This works great -- Summon keeps a nice straight line.

But when I try to Summon the X back to its original spot, it stays straight for a few feet and then turns its wheels away from my garage, leaving about a 3-4 foot gap when it's done.

All I want it to do is park in its original spot! Anything I can do to fix this? Put a cone on the other side so it detects an obstacle?

This is with AP2.5.

I have same issue except mine just barely fits in garage, mirrors have to be folded to clear, so wife likes me to summon out, but sometimes after a few feet it starts turning into the wall. Called the service center and they said feature in beta testing and will get better in time.

Have you tried setting a closer clearance setting? I can summon mine into a much narrower parking space without it trying to turn away from the wall, but only after changing the settings.
Just keep an eye out for it, it can get pretty close with the tight setting.

Yup! When i picked up my MX last week, the delivery specialist mentioned that there was a feature in settings about letting the car know if the space around you during "Summon-Mode" is tight. IE if your packing garage entrance is narrow.

By selecting the "narrow" feature, the car will be willing to get in to tighter corners, and not adjust itself or stop summon. I cant remember off the top of my head where that feature was exactly, but i assume its under the Summon page.

I already have it in "tight parking mode". I'll try a smaller bumper clearance but I assumed that was just front and back, not side to side.

No rear view camera in AP2.5 on the X. Afaik that's only in the 3.
