How to... Phone help needed

I put this elsewhere with no success. Any ideas please
Can someone please advise.
Model 3.
During a phone call made from the car touch screen how do I bring up the number pad to use the hash?
No issue with connecting and making the call, just cant seem to find how to do this whilst in a call rather than bringing it up for a new call??

SORTED had to do a reset and re connect phone then works

Is a shame they're is no option to search your contacts. You have to scroll down using the silly very small lettered list in the right of the phone screen. Or am I missing something

The voice commands are generally good. And of course if you are parked you can just use your phone to search.

Voice works OK for calls so long as you use a California accent I find "Carl" works best as the trigger word. not sure there is a way to specify which number where a contact has multiple though which would be nice

it used to work for me for the first 3 months and never worked since, Siri has no problems with my contacts

In my experience, using the word “Dial” instead of “call” works more reliably and pause slightly between first and second name. However just saying “Hey Siri call Mum” seems to work a lot more better for me.
