I live in NY...when should I put on my summer set?

Just as the post says I live in NY and have an appointment coming up next week to get the integrated center console installed. Since I'll already be at the service deptartment I was thinking about having them swap out for my summer set...what do you think to soon to put the set on?

NYC - sure. Plattsburgh? You may want to wait, unless you are ok not driving for a few days. Take my recommendation with a grain of salt - I've driven my S in CT on no-seasons for 6 winters.

You probably know the weather and your needs better than anyone, so your decision will be more informed than anyone here.

Summer tires lose traction below 40F. As tes-s said, NY is a big place, so impossible to answer.

I live in Toronto area and usually swap tires at Canadian thanksgiving (mid oct) and Easter (mid April).

Thanks...Im in Dutchess County NY...Im gonna say its pretty much safe to put them on in the beginning of April. It looks like the snow is done till next year(hopefully).

Just learned about a little scandal with new corvettes getting delivered with cracked summer tires. The 40F rule is not just poor traction, but true summer tires can get so brittle as to crack at low temps. Keep them cozy inside until the freezing is done...

12 years In Rochester I used to wear summer tires from Easter to Thanksgiving. YMMV

I live where you live. My issue is the rims, not the tires. I prefer my 21" wheels but the pot holes make it a no-no before May. i run Dunlop Winter Run-Flats, the steel side wall seems to deal well with Model S' weight.
