NOW. everything at this point is apart and the old radar is out. its time to start on the new one.

This is what I used to mount the defusers. because there are stick on style, I use 3M double back tape and 3m adhesion promoter.
works great! when to properly install it of course :)

this is about the same spot the old was in. great spot!
IMG_0474.jpg

not much over hang. will work out great!
IMG_0475.jpg

IMG_0477.jpg

already mounted and I put double back tape under the radar to raise the front to be level and more secure
IMG_0478.jpg

and one zip tie for safe keeping. (Not really needed)
IMG_0479.jpg

now this is the start of the bracket im going to use to mount the jammers. mounting in the same opening as the last radar because they already cut big holes into the bumper.

These are pieces of aluminum are "build yourself brackets" from the K40 radar kits. I have some left over so they are great to use when you need to do some custom work.
if you install this kit on your car. you are not going to have this unless you make your own :/
but this is here to show you how I did it.

now starting on running wires and mounting the shifter box. which is nice and also could be a pain. but ive have good luck with it. and on this car, it works fine.
the front shifters only have the one cord. which is like only 5' long. so you are limited on mounting the box in the engine bay somewhere.
the rear shifters had the extended cable and youll have to run those rear cords all the way to the front to this box.

and the box has one cord to run inside the car that plugs into your mail box

interface. cable goes to your main box
1.front shifter
2. 2nd front shifter
3.rear shifter
4. 2nd rear shifter

I think it should work just fine here
IMG_0498.jpg

I used double back tape. and it should work great. it stuck nice here

this here. I noticed the dirty flap hanging down was for the air cooling. the pervious installer must have missed that because its all dirty and torn. probably blocking some air way. who know how much this duct goes across the whole front. so keep that in mind. I pushed back up.

this is the interface cable. gose from the box to the inside of the car, I will run what I need in the car and keep the excess wire out side back in the "engine bay" so I don't have clutter in the cab

I did some exploring, and the hole that im using in the firewall in just behind the windshield fluid tank.
I pull the cover off the shock tower and pull the wheel well liner down. you have A TON of room to get your arms down there. now I don't have to "fish" wires. thank you TESLA!

For some ideas you may want to review this thread. For optimal performance, the laser jammers need to be closer to the headlamps (that's where the police typically aim their laser guns).
The most common place for police to to shoot laster is the license plate as they are ultra reflective. Of course it's a good idea to protect the headlight too, but license plate first. The best placement of the heads depends on the number of heads you are installing - there are plenty of threads discussing this on Rdforum.org, where you can probably find advice from others who installed on the model car you are installing. There you can also get together with some enthusiasts to test how well your setup works using privately owned laser speed guns.

I think I would agreed. a radar gun is going to get pointed at the center if the car. I believe the escort asks for the jammers to be even, level and father apart. and installing the jammers you cant just mount anywhere, without a ton of work, which I will admit. im not getting paid for because that's the way the company I work for works. :/ ' im honestly going above and beyond to install these right.(compared to the other techs :/ )

Nice job so far! Thanks for posting.

Was the previous installer the owner, or a "pro" shop?

Because correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't laser jammers supposed to be installed perfectly level (as possible)? These old shifters are installed on what looks like a 15-20 degree angle. Probably significantly reducing their performance.

Man, I'd love to get a 360MaxCI installed.

What are you doing with the old 9500ci?

now mounting the rear jammers. they are going to the hatch. because, which I didn't mention before. it probably for the best being since the customer already getting a new radar. they might but a new one again in the future. better for taking back out, no big holes just in case they change the style of the jammers again. I wanted them mounted flush like the front, and well all the cars I do.
but this is best ................."I think"

in the pic the right circle is where I drilled a new hole for the jammer cord. its way too tight to run across to the drivers side.

this is the drivers side factory hole. I removed the camera grommet and used my own. used the same on the other side. only way to fit the wires.

IMG_0514.jpg

IMG_0524.jpg

yellow mark is where I needed to "round out" to fit the wire ... just cut enough to fit the wire "U" shape
IMG_0525.jpg

I put double bacl tape on the black trim to hold way better. there was existing tape there when I took it off. so im not sure if "clips" were broke in a couple spots or what. but I put some just in case. seemed to help

Have you tried pressing the brakes? The other option is to try to restart it. Press a hold the brakes and then press and hold the two scroll wheels on the steering wheel until the Tesla T shows up.
