I'm being quoted £952 from Churchil with protected no claims, £350 voluntary excess, £550 compulsory (!?)..

41, 15 years NCD, decent area. I have had a fault claim in February though, which appears to push the policy up by £230. :(

If Tesla had properly registered with the underwriters it wouldn't be an issue, go to compare the market and find an insurer with a non-stupid quote. I don't expect it to be the £250 my Leaf cost but triple that because there isn't any competition is quite grating.

Agree, seems they don't care about people insuring the cars or they are getting a kick back with Direct Line

A lot of people seem to be getting resonable quotes from churchill, I say reasonable, because this is a performance car, even the SR+ has a 0-60 of 5.3 seconds. I believe all model s's are group 50, it is expected this will be a very high insurance group to once it ever gets rated. I'm 28, 8 ncb, Essex, and around £560, baring mind I'm not paying that much less for a 13 plate Fiesta ST, I consider that a pretty good price.

Appreciate that isn't the case for everyone though.

Fair enough but I have 13ncb, 30+, secure gated car park and the SR+ is quoting for about £1k with Direct Line Group so, most definitely not the case that they are good value for some, for comparison Direct Line is double for my current car so its not the case that its just a higher group insurance. P.S the P100D is cheaper to insure for me than the Model 3, so yes I believe something is up!

Wow when you see some of these quotes it makes me think my quote is quite good for private hire work, 3 drivers 33,40,65 with clean licenses and 1 claim nearly 5 years ago on a Performance doing 100k fully comp, protected NCB, public liability etc £500 excess £1700. Sounds a lot but if you work it on a per mile cost it's very good. Just need the ok for a charger from the landlord now

Interesting did you mean its just £1700 for 3 professional private hire drivers?

I phoned Churchill and asked for the tesla specialist team and they said that doesn't apply anymore. Does anyone have a direct number for them?

Quote I got was £760 and looking to drop that if possible.

My old part of the world (Ormond Drive) - good to see someone else doing something to improve AQ around there

secure parking in a lock-up garage not at home address does that help in anyone's quotes. There must be a combination some where

I have a garage which I use every night and told my insurers that although I use it every night, there are odd periods when I might be storing something in there so it would not be 100% of the time - my insurance quote went down on this news. Personal driveway seemed to be a big factor though. Insurers will get a bit shirty if you make a claim if vehicle is lost/damaged overnight and it is not parked without good reason where/how you said it would be.
